LEGO Holiday 2026: Daft Punk Enter the Festive Workshop
The LEGO Group Reveals Its Festive Campaign for the 2026 Holiday Season
Thursday 5 November, 1:01 AM PT
The LEGO Group has launched its global 2026 holiday campaign with an unusually affectionate twist on seasonal gift-giving: what happens when the people who create a present love it so much that they cannot bear to give it away? Unveiled on November 5 in Billund, Denmark, the centerpiece is a 74-second film titled The LEGO Holiday Workshop, conceived by Our LEGO Agency (OLA) and directed by Michael Gracey, the filmmaker behind The Greatest Showman and Better Man.
Its soundtrack is Daft Punk’s “One More Time,” a deliberately apt choice for a story about the desire to play and build together again. The French electronic duo appear as helmeted minifigures, connecting the brand’s holiday storytelling to a broader LEGO–Daft Punk partnership announced on October 22, 2026.

From a Secret Yellow Door to a Universe of LEGO Characters
The film begins with the Daft Punk minifigures hurrying through the snow towards a tiny illuminated yellow door. They are joined by LEGO F1 ACADEMY driver Esmee Kosterman and a group of Yetis, all apparently late for work.
The encounters are intentionally unexpected. Yetis deliver blasts of ice, while Marvel characters Thor, Doctor Doom and Mystique contribute their powers in the superhero area. Engineers and unicorns add racing energy in the vehicle zone, before the brick flies above a Daft Punk concert staged around a glowing pyramid. Its journey ultimately ends in a LEGO gift bag.

Michael Gracey Turns a Tiny Brick into the Main Character
For Michael Gracey, the attraction was the possibility of a whole world concealed behind a door, with no limit to what could be imagined using LEGO bricks. The director has explained that the narrative was designed around a single small brick travelling between characters from otherwise separate universes.
When the workshop team finally has to say goodbye to its creations, E.T., Derpy Tiger from KPop Demon Hunters, the LEGO NINJAGO Twin Titans and other characters gather for an emotional farewell. In a decorated living room, a young girl starts opening her present, only to hear a noise at the window. The workshop team have gathered outside, their faces pressed against the glass because they cannot bear to leave their creation behind. The final invitation to join the family turns the joke into a celebration of building together.

Daft Punk’s New LEGO Partnership Adds a Musical Dimension
The choice of “One More Time” carries particular significance because the festive film arrives only two weeks after LEGO formally announced its collaboration with Daft Punk. The partnership links two recognizable creative languages: the modular possibilities of bricks and the duo’s robot imagery, performance design and electronic music.
Remi Marcelli, Senior Vice President of Global Brand Development at the LEGO Group, described the song as a way of connecting generations and celebrating the power of creativity to bring people together. Genevieve Hoey, Senior Director of Global Creative at Our LEGO Agency, likewise emphasized the campaign’s central dilemma: finding the perfect gift is one challenge, but actually parting with it can be another.

Seven Short Films Extend the Holiday Campaign
The main film is accompanied by seven 15-second shorts that explore different areas of the LEGO Holiday Workshop and spotlight additional building interests. The international announcement identifies Adventure, Discovery, Gaming, Nature, New Stories, LEGO Pokémon and Vehicles as the featured themes.
Together, the shorts allow the campaign to move beyond its central red brick and introduce different play styles, from early-years construction to gaming-inspired builds and vehicles. The breadth of the offer is important to the narrative: the workshop can accommodate dramatically different interests, while the pleasure of creating something remains the connecting idea.

French Research Highlights the Appeal of Playing Together
The emotional premise also reflects research commissioned by the LEGO Group. According to the French campaign materials, 92% of surveyed families in France would like to spend more time playing together. The same French study found that 15% of parents had purchased a LEGO gift partly because they wanted it themselves, 13% had bought a second copy to keep and 7% had kept a set intended for someone else. The online survey questioned 1,001 French parents of children aged 3–16 on September 23–29, 2026.
The international LEGO announcement separately reported that 89% wished they spent more time playing together and 24% of parents had bought a LEGO gift knowing they would enjoy it too, drawing on a broader survey of 11,001 parents across eleven countries. The distinction matters because the French results tell a more specific local story.

LEGO Stores Bring the Holiday Workshop into Real Life
The campaign is designed to extend beyond screens. LEGO Stores around the world are participating in holiday-themed experiences, including Pick a Brick, Build a Mini, Minifigure Factory and LEGO #BuildToGive.
The international campaign also includes immersive storefront displays at LEGO’s flagship stores on Fifth Avenue in New York and Leicester Square in London. Other announced initiatives include a touring LEGO Giftmas Workshop in the United Kingdom, holiday building experiences in Australia, and local events in North America.

A Holiday Message Built Around the Joy of Giving
What makes The LEGO Holiday Workshop distinctive is its refusal to separate the thrill of receiving a present from the emotional attachment involved in making it. The red brick travels through several elaborate worlds, but the final destination is an ordinary family moment. That contrast gives the spectacle its purpose: even the most extraordinary fictional workshop leads back to the simple pleasure of making something with someone else.
