Angry birds movie 3 : French Cast and Christmas Release

Angry birds movie 3 : Marine Delplace and Louis Cattelat Join the French Cast

Today, 7:19 AM PT

Marine Delplace and Louis Cattelat are joining the French-language cast of The Angry Birds Movie 3, bringing two of Red and Silver’s children to life in a sequel built around parenthood. Released in France as Angry Birds – La Grande Envolée, the animated comedy arrives in cinemas on December 23, 2026. The supplied French press announcement also confirms Marc Arnaud as Red, placing an established voice alongside the two newly announced performers. [Supplied press material]

The premise gives the franchise’s famously short-tempered hero a challenge that cannot be solved simply by launching himself into danger. Paramount’s official synopsis combines his responsibilities as a father with another world-saving mission. The official trailer announcement establishes that Red now has three children, making family life central to the adventure. For a character whose anger has long driven the comedy, that is a particularly apt source of friction: his own household can now test his patience before any enemy arrives.

Marine Delplace voices June and Louis Cattelat plays Glider

Marine Delplace in the french version will play June, the 13-year-old daughter of Red and Silver. Independent, outspoken and determined to have room to make her own choices, June is described as a teenager with a temper strong enough to challenge her father’s.

Louis Cattelat will be the french Glider voice, Red and Silver’s 16-year-old son. His ambition is to become a star of Egg Ball, the birds’ version of American football. The sporting detail adds a useful distinction between the siblings: June wants independence, while Glider is eager to establish himself through achievement. Both descriptions suggest ways for the sequel to explore the awkward business of growing up with a famous, forceful parent.

There is an interesting connection between this new role and Louis Cattelat’s background. The Maison des Métallos biography records that he entered Lyon’s CinéFabrique in 2019 to study screenwriting, before winning the Kandidator stand-up competition in 2022. It also recalls that he performed comedy sketches for his family as a child. His route to animated voice work therefore brings together an early interest in performing and formal training in constructing characters and dialogue.

His stage career provides another concrete milestone beyond the film’s release. L’Olympia lists Louis Cattelat and Friends for February 27, 2027, at 8 p.m., as the closing celebration of Arecibo. The venue says the show will be reworked for the occasion and feature guest comedians.

Red becomes a father of three in a new family adventure

The first trailer, released publicly on June 29, 2026, introduced the sequel’s domestic direction. Rovio’s accompanying announcement emphasised the contrast between Red’s previous adventures and the demands of looking after three children.

The promotional premise is especially well matched to a holiday release: children can recognise the teenagers’ wish for freedom, while adults can recognise a parent struggling to keep control. That is an interpretation of the announced setup, rather than a verdict on the finished film. The available materials establish the family and the world-saving stakes, but do not yet justify a detailed account of the full adventure or its resolution.

Returning English voices meet an expanded ensemble

The English-language cast reunites Jason Sudeikis as Red, Josh Gad as Chuck, Rachel Bloom as Silver and Danny McBride as Bomb. The new generation includes Emma Myers, Walker Scobell and Psalm West as Red’s children.

The official cast also includes Keke Palmer, Lily James, Anna Cathcart, Sam Richardson, Marcello Hernández, Tim Robinson, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser and James Austin Johnson. Online creators are represented by Salish Matter and Jimmy Donaldson, professionally known as MrBeast.

There is a further continuity detail for longtime fans: Anthony Padilla returns as Hal and Ian Hecox returns as Bubbles. Rovio confirmed both performers alongside the September 2025 announcement of the additional digital creators.

John Rice directs as Paramount brings the sequel to Christmas

John Rice directs The Angry Birds Movie 3 from a screenplay by Thurop Van Orman. The official film website credits John Cohen, Dan Chuba, Carla Connor and Namit Malhotra as producers. Composer Heitor Pereira, who scored the previous Angry Birds films, returns for this instalment, providing another creative connection across the series.

Production was officially announced on June 6, 2024, with Rovio, SEGA and Prime Focus Studios involved and DNEG Animation named as the animation partner. The 2025 production announcement specifies that DNEG Animation handles storyboards, art development and animation.

The release date has changed during the film’s rollout. Paramount’s distribution announcement initially identified January 29, 2027; a subsequent official update moved the film forward to December 23, 2026. France’s distributor now confirms that December date for Angry Birds – La Grande Envolée, making the Christmas opening the current schedule readers should use.

A mobile game franchise with a substantial cinema history

Rovio dates the original Angry Birds game to 2009 and reports more than five billion mobile-game downloads across the brand. Its licensing page also lists more than 30 million social-media followers and over $500 million in combined worldwide box-office revenue for the first two films. These are franchise-wide figures, rather than results for the forthcoming sequel, and help explain the scale of the audience the new film hopes to reach.
