Convention - SDCC 2026 : Dark Horse Comics Reveals Star-Studded Saturday and Sunday Signing Schedule Featuring Frank Miller, Patton Oswalt, Tom King, and More

By Mulder, 14 july 2026

Dark Horse Comics will complete the unveiling of its San Diego Comic-Con 2026 autograph program with an impressive lineup for Saturday, July 25, and Sunday, July 26, bringing together legendary comic book creators, bestselling writers, actors, and rising talents for two packed days of free signings at Booth #2615. As one of the convention's flagship exhibitors, the publisher will continue its tradition of offering complimentary autograph sessions, exclusive convention prints, and collectible promotional items while celebrating its 40th anniversary. Visitors will also be able to explore booth activations from Middle-earth Enterprises, Zing Toys, and Absurd Ventures, making the Dark Horse exhibit one of the busiest destinations throughout Comic-Con International. The publisher has also reminded attendees that several of the weekend's most anticipated signings will require wristbands distributed through random drawings after the exhibit hall opens, helping manage demand for some of the convention's biggest names.

Saturday's schedule will begin with an appearance by Eisner Award-winning writer Kelly Sue DeConnick, who will sign copies of FML. Over the course of her career, DeConnick has become one of modern comics' most influential voices, earning acclaim for creator-owned titles such as Bitch Planet and Pretty Deadly while also redefining iconic superheroes including Captain Marvel. Her latest creator-owned work will continue the publisher's long-standing commitment to championing original storytelling, a philosophy that has defined Dark Horse Comics since its founding in 1986.

One of the day's most anticipated events will follow with a major Minor Threats signing that will bring together Emmy and Grammy Award-winning actor, writer, and producer Patton Oswalt alongside co-creator Jordan Blum. They will be joined by Heath Corson, Tim Seeley, and Timmy Heague, representing both Minor Threats and From the World of Minor Threats. Since its debut, Minor Threats has emerged as one of Dark Horse's most successful creator-owned superhero universes, presenting a fresh perspective on masked vigilantes by focusing on the overlooked sidekicks, henchmen, and forgotten villains inhabiting a city abandoned by its legendary heroes. Because of the enormous popularity of both Oswalt and the series, this signing will require wristbands, will prohibit posed photography and witnessed signatures, and will limit signings exclusively to Minor Threats-related material, ensuring that as many fans as possible will have the opportunity to participate.

Following a mystery signing announced simply as "To Be Announced," which will also require wristbands, the spotlight will shift to American Caper, one of Dark Horse's most closely watched new publishing initiatives. This session will reunite Lazlow, Tyler Boss, Shelly Bond, Lee Loughridge, and Chris Anderson, showcasing the growing creative team behind the crime series launched under the banner of Dan Houser's Absurd Ventures. While Houser himself will appear on Friday, Saturday's signing will highlight the collaborative talent bringing the ambitious project to life, with fans being limited to one complimentary print and one additional signed item. The project has already generated considerable industry attention due to Houser's long history of crafting expansive crime narratives during his years at Rockstar Games, where he co-created globally successful franchises including Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption.

The afternoon will continue with Zack Kaplan and John Pearson, who will introduce readers to The Smart Division, followed by a diverse lineup celebrating several upcoming Dark Horse titles. Casey Gilley will sign Tomb Raider: Sacred Artifacts, continuing the publisher's long-running partnership with the legendary video game franchise. Connor Goldsmith will appear for Did You Hear About Mimi Green?, while veteran fantasy and horror author Thomas Sniegoski will promote Frankenstein: New World, further expanding the acclaimed universe originally created by comic book legends Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden. These signings will highlight Dark Horse's ability to balance globally recognized licensed properties with original creator-owned projects spanning genres from horror and fantasy to mystery and science fiction.

Saturday will conclude with one of the most prestigious autograph sessions of the entire convention as comic book icon Frank Miller will be joined by acclaimed artist Ryan Benjamin and celebrated colorist Alex Sinclair. Miller's influence on the comic book industry is immeasurable, with groundbreaking works such as The Dark Knight Returns, Batman: Year One, Sin City, 300, and Daredevil: Born Again having helped redefine the medium over the past four decades. Unsurprisingly, this signing will require wristbands, will prohibit posed photography and witnessed signatures, and will limit attendees to one complimentary print and one additional signed item. It is expected to become one of the convention's most sought-after events, with demand likely to exceed the number of available wristbands shortly after distribution begins.

Sunday's program will provide a fitting conclusion to Dark Horse's four-day presence at Comic-Con. The day will begin with The Big Shakedown, featuring Jordan Blum and Tim Seeley, before shifting toward monster-inspired storytelling through The Perfectly Monstrous Life of Adam Frankenstein. Writer Tate Brombal, whose recent work has attracted increasing critical acclaim, will be joined by artist Soo Lee, while Julio Anta will sign copies of Beast of Borikén, reflecting Dark Horse's continuing investment in diverse voices and original graphic storytelling.

One of Sunday's headline attractions will be the appearance of Eisner Award-winning writer Tom King, who will sign copies of Six of Us. Since transitioning from a career in intelligence to professional comics, King has become one of the industry's most celebrated writers, producing acclaimed runs on Batman, Mister Miracle, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, The Human Target, and numerous other award-winning series. His Dark Horse appearance is expected to attract substantial interest from readers eager to meet one of contemporary comics' most influential storytellers. In keeping with the publisher's standard policies for high-profile guests, posed photography will not be permitted, and signing quantities will be limited to ensure broad participation.

The convention will conclude with a return appearance by fantasy legends Wendy Pini and Richard Pini, who will once again celebrate the enduring legacy of ElfQuest. More than four decades after its debut, the pioneering fantasy series remains one of the defining examples of successful independent comics, inspiring generations of creators while demonstrating the long-term viability of creator-owned publishing. Their closing signing will serve as a symbolic reminder of Dark Horse's enduring relationship with many of the industry's most respected creators and its ongoing commitment to independent storytelling.

Throughout the weekend, every Dark Horse booth signing will remain free to attendees, with complimentary signing cards or poster prints available while supplies last. Visitors will also be able to purchase convention exclusives directly from the publisher or bring personal copies of Dark Horse publications for signatures, although individual creators may reserve the right to limit the number and type of items signed. Several sessions will require wristbands distributed through drawings beginning after the exhibit hall officially opens, while lines may close early because of time limitations or crowd capacity. These procedures have become a familiar part of the Dark Horse Comic-Con experience and reflect the extraordinary popularity of the publisher's guests, whose appearances consistently rank among the highlights of San Diego Comic-Con.
