Toys - McFarlane Toys Supergirl: First Wave of Action Figures Brings DC Studios’ Cosmic Adventure to Life

By Mulder, 21 june 2026

As Supergirl prepares for its world premiere in Brooklyn on June 22, 2026, ahead of its theatrical release in the United States on June 26 and in France on July 1, McFarlane Toys is already giving fans and collectors an early glimpse into the film’s universe with a product line that was officially revealed on March 31, 2026. Arriving nearly three months before the film’s release, the collection offers one of the most detailed looks yet at several key characters from the latest chapter of the DC Universe overseen by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Featuring versions of Kara Zor-El, Lobo, Krem of the Yellow Hills, and Krypto, the line reflects the larger scope and more cosmic direction of the upcoming film directed by Craig Gillespie and starring Milly Alcock as the new Supergirl.

The centerpiece of the collection is undoubtedly the Supergirl and Baby Krypto Deluxe Theatrical Edition figure. Produced in McFarlane’s signature 7-inch scale and featuring the company’s Ultra Articulation system with up to 22 points of movement, the figure captures the on-screen appearance of Milly Alcock’s Kara Zor-El while including an impressive selection of accessories. Alongside Baby Krypto, collectors receive an alternate face plate, additional hands, a sword, and a display base. The inclusion of Baby Krypto highlights the growing importance of the super-powered dog within DC Studios’ new continuity. Early footage, promotional materials, and comments from the filmmakers have emphasized the bond between Kara and Krypto, making this release one of the first major pieces of merchandise dedicated to the duo’s relationship.

For collectors seeking a more streamlined version, McFarlane Toys is also releasing a standard Supergirl figure based on the character’s appearance in the film. While more affordable and less accessory-heavy than the Deluxe edition, it still offers the highly detailed sculpting and articulation expected from the company. The figure includes a swappable face plate, extra hands, and a display stand, allowing fans to recreate several poses from the movie. Its release reflects McFarlane’s now well-established strategy of offering both collector-focused premium editions and standard retail versions to appeal to a broader audience.

One of the most exciting additions to the wave is Lobo’s Spacehog, the infamous interstellar motorcycle associated with the fan-favorite antihero. Measuring approximately 13 inches in length and compatible with most 7-inch scale figures, the vehicle provides collectors with one of the most distinctive pieces in the line. Its reveal also offers a closer look at the design choices made for the cinematic version of Lobo, portrayed by Jason Momoa. Although Lobo was not part of Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s original Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic series, James Gunn has explained that the character was incorporated into the film adaptation to help expand the story into a three-act cinematic structure while introducing one of DC’s most beloved characters who had never before appeared in a major theatrical film.

Naturally, the Spacehog is accompanied by a Deluxe Theatrical Edition Lobo figure. Based on Jason Momoa’s interpretation of the character, the figure includes an alternate head sculpt, five interchangeable hands, his signature hook and chain weapon, and a display base. The design appears heavily inspired by the character’s classic 1990s comic-book look, a creative direction that aligns with comments from the film’s costume department. Early reactions from fans have been particularly positive, with many praising the faithfulness to the source material and the rugged aesthetic that helped make Lobo one of DC’s most recognizable antiheroes.

Completing the initial lineup is Krem of the Yellow Hills, portrayed in the film by Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts. The Deluxe figure includes an axe, a blaster, additional hands, an alternate head sculpt, and a display stand. Krem serves as the primary antagonist of the story and plays a central role in the tragedy that drives Kara’s quest for revenge across the galaxy. The character’s inclusion in the first wave underscores his importance to the film’s narrative and further reinforces the darker tone that Craig Gillespie and screenwriter Ana Nogueira have repeatedly discussed. Drawing inspiration from works such as True Grit, Logan and John Wick, the filmmakers have described Supergirl as a science-fiction road movie exploring trauma, loss, and personal growth rather than following the traditional superhero formula.

The toy line also serves as a reminder of how far the project has come since its earliest development stages. A Supergirl film was initially planned during the DC Extended Universe era, with Sasha Calle debuting as the character in The Flash. However, the project was reimagined after James Gunn and Peter Safran took charge of DC Studios in 2022. Their decision to adapt Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow quickly became one of the cornerstones of the new DC Universe. Written by Ana Nogueira and directed by Craig Gillespie, the film stars Milly Alcock, Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, David Corenswet, and Jason Momoa, and follows Kara Zor-El on a galaxy-spanning journey alongside Krypto as she pursues justice and vengeance following a devastating tragedy.

With Supergirl only days away from its theatrical debut, McFarlane Toys’ first wave of collectibles arrives at the perfect moment. More than simple merchandise, these figures and vehicles provide fans with a detailed preview of the characters, designs, and themes that will define one of DC Studios’ most anticipated projects. Whether it is the emotional partnership between Kara and Krypto, the long-awaited arrival of Lobo on the big screen, or the threat posed by Krem of the Yellow Hills, the collection successfully captures the scale and ambition of a film that could play a major role in shaping the future of the DC Universe.
