James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, brings together a cast of some of the most insane criminals in the DC universe. We offer you to discover the new trailer of this summer's event movie. The Suicide Squad is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics Suicide Squad. Produced by DC Films, Atlas Entertainment and The Safran Company, and scheduled for distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures, it is a standalone sequel to Suicide Squad (2016) and the tenth film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
In the film, the Suicide Squad is sent to destroy a Nazi-era prison and laboratory. Development began before the first film was released in 2016, and director David Ayer was expected to return. However, Ayer left after opting to develop a Gotham City Sirens film instead. Warner Bros. considered several replacement directors before hiring Gavin O'Connor in September 2017, but he left a year later. James Gunn was then hired to write and direct after being temporarily fired by Disney and Marvel Studios as director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). James Gunn drew inspiration from the 1980s Suicide Squad comics and war movies. As a stand-alone sequel, The Suicide Squad includes some returning cast members, but tells a new story distinct from the first film. Filming began in Atlanta, Georgia, in September 2019, and wrapped in Panama in February 2020.
The film stars Margot Robbie (Birds of Prey and the fantabulous Harley Quinn story, Scandal), Idris Elba (Avengers: Infinity War), John Cena (Peacemaker series, Bumblebee), Joel Kinnaman (Suicide squad), Jai Courtney (Divergent saga), Peter Capaldi (World War Z, Doctor Who), David Dastmalchian (Dune, Ant-Man and the Wasp), Daniela Melchior (Mayer Park, Views and Reviews), Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy), Alice Braga (Elysium), Pete Davidson (The King of Staten Island, "Saturday Night Live"), Joaquín Cosio (Spider-Man: New Generation, Narcos: Mexico), Juan Diego Botto (The Europeans), Storm Reid (Invisible man, A Shortcut in Time, Euphoria), Nathan Fillion (Guardians of the Galaxy, The rookie: Los Angeles cop), Steve Agee (Brightburn: the evil child, Guardians of the galaxy 2), Sean Gunn (Guardians of the galaxy saga, avengers saga), Mayling Ng (wonder woman), Flula Borg (ralph 2. 0), Jennifer Holland (Brightburn: The Evil Child, Peacemaker series), Tinashe Kajese (Valor, The Inspectors), Sylvester Stallone (Rocky, Rambo and Expendables sagas), and Viola Davis (Ma Tainey Blues, Suicide Squad).
James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) directs and writes the script, based on the DC Comics characters. The film is produced by Charles Roven and Peter Safran, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Walter Hamada, Chantal Nong Vo, Nikolas Korda and Richard Suckle executive producing. The director has enlisted the help of cinematographer Henry Braham (Guardians of the Galaxy 2), cinematographer Beth Mickle (Captain Marvel), cinematographers Fred Raskin (Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood) and Christian Wagner (The Fast & Furious Saga), Oscar-winning cinematographer Judianna Makovsky (Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Avengers: Endgame, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone), and John Murphy (Kick-Ass).
The film will be released in theaters worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures in 2021.

Synopsis:
Welcome to hell - otherwise known as Belle Reve, the prison that holds the record for the highest death rate in the United States! It's where the world's worst supervillains are held, ready to do anything to escape - even if it means joining the sinister and top-secret Task Force X. Today's high-risk mission is to round up a bunch of convicts, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin, and everyone's favorite psycho, Harley Quinn! Then arm them to the teeth and unleash them (literally) on the lost - and enemy-infested - island of Corto Maltese. Traveling through a jungle teeming with formidable adversaries and lurking guerrillas, the Squad is tasked with physically eliminating everyone they meet along the way. Only Colonel Rick Flag is on the ground to supervise them and... from a distance, Amanda Waller's government geeks track their every move and give them their instructions. And as always, one wrong move and you're dead! (at the hands of their enemies, a teammate or Amanda Waller herself). And if bets are made, they're betting on their certain defeat - to All!
