Kansas City Barbeque is a popular restaurant located in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego, California. It is known for its Kansas City-style barbecue and has gained fame for being featured in the movie "Top Gun" as the location of the famous "Great Balls of Fire" piano scene. The restaurant's connection to the film has made it a popular destination for both locals and tourists.

As the name suggests, the restaurant specializes in serving Kansas City-style barbecue. This style of BBQ typically includes a variety of slow-smoked meats, such as ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and chicken, coated in a sweet and tangy tomato-based barbecue sauce. The restaurant gained widespread recognition after it was featured in the 1986 movie "Top Gun," starring Tom Cruise. In the film, a famous scene takes place at Kansas City Barbeque, where a piano player performs "Great Balls of Fire" on an old-fashioned upright piano.

Decor and Atmosphere: Kansas City Barbeque has a rustic and laid-back atmosphere, with walls covered in aviation and movie memorabilia. The interior exudes a classic American barbeque joint feel, making it a fun and nostalgic place to dine. The restaurant often features live music performances, adding to its lively and entertaining ambiance. Kansas City Barbeque is conveniently situated in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, making it easily accessible to visitors exploring downtown San Diego. While Kansas City Barbeque is most famous for its BBQ offerings, the menu includes a variety of other dishes, such as burgers, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers.
