Mulder's Review

Some films find a special significance in this period of coming out of global confinement. While for several months our actual life was changed forever and we had to face the closure of many cultural places (cinema, museums, theaters, concert halls), our way of seeing things was affected like discovering new movies thanks to the streaming platforms that took a greater importance in our life whether it is Netflix, Disney +, Apple TV+ or Prime video.

Joe Wright's new film based on a screenplay by Tracy Letts is not only a brilliant thriller but also a true cinematic experience. After having directed such outstanding films as Pride & Prejudice (2005), Atonement (2007), Hanna (2011), Pan (2015) and more recently Darkest Hour (2017), Joe Wright's new film is not only a tribute to Alfred Hitchcock's films (Rear Window (1954) comes to mind) but also a successful adaptation of the bestseller by A. J. Finn.

Anna Fox (Amy Adams) is an agoraphobic child psychologist who finds herself watching the perfect family across the street through the windows of her New York home. Her life is turned upside down when she inadvertently witnesses a brutal crime. Based on the gripping best-selling novel and adapted by Tracy Letts, shocking secrets are revealed and nothing and no one is what they seem in this suspenseful psychological thriller.

While theaters will reopen in a few days in France, The Woman in the Window allows us to wait and especially to benefit from a sumptuous cast worthy of the great Hollywood films, whether it is Amy Adams, Gary Oldman, Anthony Mackie, Jennifer Jason Leigh or Julianne Moore. The plot perfectly mastered supported by an inspired direction of Joe Wright has totally convinced us and we can only advise you to discover this movie on Netflix when it will be released in a few days.
