Dolphin Kick

Dolphin Kick is a fun, family friendly flick that can be enjoyed by everyone. When a boy, Luke, who used to spend a lot of time in the water loses his mother he develops a fear of swimming. The family he comes from practically lives in the water so he clearly feels sad and left out. But when he discovers a lone dolphin out by a dock, this new found connection triggers something in him to overcome his fear of the water to ensure that he can get his new friend safely back to his pod.

The familial bonds run strong in this small yet bighearted family. Luke has a close relationship with his sister, Skyler who has a strong sense of adventure herself, and a father, Clint that gives all he can to make his children feel loved and cared for in the absence of their mother, of course still having a goofy side to keep them entertained. We get to see them come together to work as a team, encouraging each other to believe in themselves to overcome their struggles. They even find help in some friendly local marine biologist students who help educate them on sea life and lend a helping hand when they need it. This film is not without some conflict however, when their new friend Echo unintentionally makes trouble with some local fishermen.

Not only do they follow this family along their adventures but they’re sure to remind you of the importance of keeping our beaches and oceans clean. Far too often do people leave their trash on the beach and when the tide rolls in the trash gets pulled out into the water further polluting the oceans wildlife habitats. Remember to always clean up after yourselves and leave the beaches the way you found them. They’re even quick to throw in some boat safety tips that could just come in handy in your personal life.

Director Philip Marlatt, takes you on an adventure to a beautiful tropical island where you can enjoy yourself but also discover that even in working you can still have fun. He helps show you friendship can go a long way when you put in the effort and even if you don’t see eye to eye maybe if you try to see things from another perspective you might just learn a thing or two.
