Superbob

SuperBob is a action comedy superhero movie starring Brett Goldstein (as Bob), Catherine Tate (as Theresa), Natalia Tena (Dorris), Laura Haddock (June)

The movie starts 6 years ago with a meteor coming down in a park in London, and hitting Bob. As a result of getting hit by the meteor, he gets superpowers (similar to Superman). 6 years after getting hit, he's still the only superhero on the planet, and has not had a date in that time. He works for the British Ministry of Defence, and his liasion (Theresa) is played perfectly by Catherine Tate.

As the movie progresses we meet some of the supporting cast including his housecleaner (Dorris) who is also a nurse at the nursing home where his mom lives, as well as June (an American librarian at his local library). Bob hangs out at the library quite often, and eventually a date between June and Bob is setup (but as in any superhero type movie, things come up and the date gets pushed back). In the case of this movie, the date was pushed back, as Theresa wants Bob to meet a US Senator. He grudingly agrees to meet the Senator, where he finds out that the date with June was setup by the US Government to try to get Bob to work for them.

Eventually Bob realizes he loves Dorris (who has been his housecleaner, and taken care of him for the past 6 years). Bob is not to happy that the governments have set the date with June, as well as buying a nursery in Columbia for Dorris (which was her dream), and he resigns from the Ministry of Defence. He tells the world live via a live news report, that he is resigning and he is going freelance. He then gives out his phone number and tells people to call him if they need him.

Overall this was a great movie, lots of comedic scenes and a Doctor Who reference was thrown in to the movie. Catherine Tate as the Ministry of Defence liasion played the role perfectly and Brett Goldstein as the everyman turned into the worlds only superhero played the role perfectly. The on-screen chemistry between Brett and Tena was perfect.
