CinemaCon 2025 is set to be a grand tribute to the world of film, as the highly anticipated Big Screen Achievement Awards return to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on April 3, capping off a week of cinematic celebration. This year’s event will honor some of the most remarkable talents in the industry, with Channing Tatum receiving the Distinguished Decade of Achievement in Film award, Ana de Armas being recognized as Action Star of the Year, and Lindsay Lohan making a triumphant return with the Vanguard Award. Comedy legends Cheech & Chong will be honored for their Career Achievement in Comedy, while rising stars David Jonsson, Madeleine McGraw, and Ben Wang will receive accolades that recognize their growing impact on the film industry, alongside Star of the Year Glen Powell.

The prestigious awards ceremony, hosted by Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier and presented by The Coca-Cola Company, is more than just a glamorous night—it’s a heartfelt tribute from the theatrical exhibition industry to the artists who bring magic to the big screen. Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon, emphasized the importance of recognizing these artists, noting their influence in shaping the moviegoing experience for audiences worldwide. With past honorees including Hollywood greats who have defined modern cinema, this year’s lineup promises a mix of established icons and exciting newcomers who continue to push creative boundaries.

Channing Tatum, best known for his magnetic performances in Magic Mike, 21 Jump Street, and The Lost City, will be recognized for his decade-long contribution to film, further cementing his reputation as a dynamic performer, producer, and director. His upcoming film Roofman, directed by Derek Cianfrance and starring Kirsten Dunst and Peter Dinklage, is set for release in October, further demonstrating his versatility. Ana de Armas, who has thrilled audiences with her powerful roles in Blade Runner 2049, No Time to Die, and Knives Out, takes center stage as Action Star of the Year, ahead of her much-anticipated performance in Ballerina, a John Wick spinoff that promises intense action and gripping storytelling.

Meanwhile, Lindsay Lohan continues her cinematic resurgence with Freakier Friday, the highly awaited sequel to Freaky Friday, where she reunites with Jamie Lee Curtis. A beloved figure for her unforgettable roles in Mean Girls, The Parent Trap, and A Prairie Home Companion, Lohan’s Vanguard Award win highlights her enduring influence in Hollywood. Comedy icons Cheech & Chong, whose legendary counterculture humor has spanned decades, are set to make their big-screen return with Cheech & Chong’s Last Movie, an introspective look at their trailblazing careers, arriving in theaters on April 25.

Among the fresh faces being celebrated, David Jonsson, a BAFTA-winning performer, will soon star in The Long Walk, an adaptation of Stephen King’s first-written novel, directed by Francis Lawrence. Having already impressed audiences with his performance in Alien: Romulus, Jonsson is a talent on the rise. Madeleine McGraw, already known for her chilling role in The Black Phone, will reprise her character in the sequel, Black Phone 2, releasing in October. Her early success in major films like Ant-Man and the Wasp and Toy Story 4 has positioned her as an exciting young actress to watch. Ben Wang, starring in Karate Kid: Legends, joins the honoree list as Star of Tomorrow, following his work in American Born Chinese and Chang Can Dunk. Wang’s film, set for release in May, will unite Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, bridging generations of martial arts storytelling.

With CinemaCon 2025 poised to be the biggest celebration of theatrical exhibition yet, this year’s Big Screen Achievement Awards reflect the evolving landscape of Hollywood—where seasoned actors continue to shine, and fresh talent paves the way for the future of cinema. As six thousand industry professionals gather in Las Vegas, the event will serve as a powerful reminder of the enduring magic of the big screen.
