Marvel fans are in for a treat as Hot Toys kicks off its month-long Marvel showcase, celebrating the 85th anniversary of the iconic franchise. The first highlight is the deluxe version of the 1/6th scale Wolverine collectible figure, inspired by the much-anticipated movie Deadpool & Wolverine. This figure promises to capture the essence of Hugh Jackman’s legendary portrayal of Wolverine with meticulous detail and craftsmanship. The screen-accurate collectible is based on Wolverine's appearance in the upcoming film, featuring a newly developed masked head sculpt with interchangeable lower faces to showcase different expressions. A standout feature is its highly poseable muscular body, with arms made from silicone material, ensuring seamless elbow joints for realistic poses. Wolverine's battle outfit is replicated with a carefully tailored costume, complete with multiple interchangeable hands and attachable bladed claws for dynamic posing options.

For those opting for the deluxe version, additional accessories include an unmasked head sculpt, interchangeable sleeved arms, and a set of battle-damaged body armors. These extras allow fans to recreate various iconic scenes from the movie. The product specifications are impressive, with a product code of MMS754, a height of approximately 31 cm tall, and 30 points of articulation. The special features include an authentic and detailed likeness of Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine, with a highly-detailed dark brown short hair sculpture and screen-accurate facial expressions, detailed beard, and skin textures. The muscular body with seamless elbow joints and the option of interchangeable sleeved arms add to the realism and versatility of this collectible figure. Each piece of head sculpt is specially hand-painted, adding an extra layer of detail and quality.

The costume details include one yellow, navy, and black Wolverine suit with weathering effects, a set of body armor including a chest guard, shoulder guards, and gauntlets, and a pair of navy and black boots. Deadpool & Wolverine, the upcoming American superhero film, reunites Marvel's infamous frenemies on the big screen. After retiring from his mercenary life, Wade Wilson (Deadpool) is pulled back into action by the Time Variance Authority (TVA). Facing a new existential threat, Deadpool teams up with the reluctant Wolverine, leading to a mission that promises to change the MCU's history. This new chapter is directed by Shawn Levy and written by a team including Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine.

The film's production and release have been eagerly anticipated by fans. Filming began in May 2023 at Pinewood Studios and continued at various locations, including Norfolk and Bovingdon Film Studios. Despite interruptions due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, production wrapped in January 2024. The film’s title was revealed in February 2024, with its release scheduled for July 26, 2024, as part of Phase Five of the MCU. Morena Baccarin returns as Vanessa, Wilson's fiancée, with Rob Delaney as Peter, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox.

Several actors from previous Deadpool films reprise their roles, including Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, Randal Reeder as Buck, and Lewis Tan as Shatterstar. Additionally, actors from earlier Fox-produced Marvel films also return, such as Aaron Stanford as John Allerdyce / Pyro, and Jennifer Garner as Elektra Natchios. The film also features new characters like Dogpool, a canine variant of Wilson, and Wanda Wilson / Lady Deadpool, a female variant of Wilson. Notable cameos include Chris Hemsworth as Thor through repurposed archival footage, and Wrexham A.F.C. player Ollie Palmer as a bar attendee. Rob McElhenney also makes an undisclosed cameo appearance.

The storyline revolves around Wade Wilson, who lives a quiet life after leaving his time as the mercenary Deadpool behind him. However, the Time Variance Authority (TVA)—a bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space and monitors the timeline—pulls him into a new mission. With his home universe facing an existential threat, Wilson reluctantly joins forces with an even more reluctant Wolverine on a mission that will change the history of the MCU. The film blends action, humor, and the unique dynamics between its two lead characters, making it one of the most anticipated releases of 2024.

After the success of Deadpool (2016), 20th Century Fox began developing two sequels. The third film was set to include the superhero team X-Force. However, the acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney in March 2019 put many projects on hold. Control of the Deadpool character was transferred to Marvel Studios, which began developing a new film with Ryan Reynolds. This new film integrates Deadpool with the MCU and retains the R rating of the previous films, making it the first MCU film to have such a rating. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin were hired in November 2020 as writers, with Reese and Wernick returning from the previous films for rewrites. Shawn Levy was hired as director in March 2022. Hugh Jackman decided to reprise his role as Wolverine from Fox's X-Men films in August 2022.

Principal photography began on May 22, 2023, in London and at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England. Filming was temporarily suspended due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike but resumed and wrapped up in January 2024. The film's official title was announced as Deadpool & Wolverine in February 2024. Throughout production, several set photos and early reveals generated significant buzz, especially Jackman’s comics-accurate Wolverine costume and Reynolds's updated Deadpool outfit. Despite challenges and interruptions, the production team worked diligently to complete the film, ensuring it would meet fans' high expectations.

Deadpool & Wolverine promises to blend the signature humor and action of the Deadpool franchise with the intense and gritty world of Wolverine. This highly anticipated film is set to be released in the United States on July 26, 2024, and is expected to be a major highlight of Phase Five of the MCU.
