Paris Manga 2026 : Tyler Hoechlin, Christopher Lloyd and Emilie de Ravin unite three generations of pop culture

Yesterday, 9:00 AM PT Villepinte, Paris Nord Villepinte 2026-10-03

Paris Manga & Sci-Fi Show by TGS marked its 40th edition with a cinema and television meeting built around three performers associated with very different eras of popular culture. On Saturday, October 3, 2026, Tyler Hoechlin, Christopher Lloyd and Emilie de Ravin appeared together on the conference stage at Paris Nord Villepinte for an approximately thirty-minute panel. Rather than separating the guests into individual presentations, the event placed all three actors side by side: the host opened the discussion before questions were taken from the audience, giving fans a direct opportunity to address the performers.
The casting of the panel created an unusually broad bridge between fandoms. Christopher Lloyd brought the legacy of Back to the Future, Taxi, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and The Addams Family; Emilie de Ravin represented television landmarks including Roswell, Lost and Once Upon a Time; and Tyler Hoechlin connected the stage to Teen Wolf, Superman & Lois and a film career that began gaining major attention with Road to Perdition. In a convention built around manga, science fiction, fantasy, cinema and television, that combination made the session particularly representative of the event’s cross-generational audience.

Christopher Lloyd: from Taxi and Back to the Future to a six-decade career

Born in Stamford, Connecticut, Christopher Lloyd developed his craft in theatre before making his feature-film debut in Miloš Forman’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest in 1975. Television then gave him one of his defining early roles: Reverend Jim Ignatowski in Taxi. The performance earned Christopher Lloyd two Primetime Emmy Awards for supporting actor, in 1982 and 1983; he later won a third Primetime Emmy in 1992 for Road to Avonlea.

For movie audiences, the role that transformed Christopher Lloyd into a global pop-culture figure arrived with Robert Zemeckis’ Back to the Future in 1985. As Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown, opposite Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly, Christopher Lloyd created an eccentric scientist whose energy, expressions and time-traveling DeLorean became inseparable from the trilogy. Christopher Lloyd returned for Back to the Future Part II in 1989 and Back to the Future Part III in 1990.

His filmography extends far beyond Hill Valley. Christopher Lloyd played Klingon Commander Kruge in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Professor Plum in Clue, Judge Doom in Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Uncle Fester in The Addams Family and Addams Family Values. Decades later, he continued moving between film, television, voice acting and franchise appearances, including Nobody, Nobody 2, The Mandalorian and Knuckles. His Paris Manga appearance therefore carried more than nostalgia: it reflected a screen career stretching from 1970s American cinema to contemporary streaming-era productions.

Tyler Hoechlin: from baseball ambitions to Teen Wolf and Superman

Tyler Hoechlin, born in California in 1987, reached a major film audience while still a teenager when he played Michael Sullivan Jr. opposite Tom Hanks in Sam Mendes’ Road to Perdition. He later became a television regular as Martin Brewer in 7th Heaven, while simultaneously pursuing baseball seriously. Tyler Hoechlin played college baseball and initially prioritized the sport over acting before injuries and new acting opportunities changed the direction of his career.

A new international fan base arrived with Teen Wolf. Beginning in 2011, Tyler Hoechlin played Derek Hale, the brooding werewolf who became one of the series’ signature characters. After his original run, Tyler Hoechlin returned for the final season and later reprised Derek Hale in Teen Wolf: The Movie in 2023, also serving as a producer. His real baseball background subsequently became especially useful in Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some!!, in which he played team captain McReynolds.

Another defining role followed in 2016 when Tyler Hoechlin debuted as Clark Kent / Superman in Supergirl. The character expanded through the interconnected CW superhero series before becoming the center of Superman & Lois, which ran from 2021 to 2024. The series emphasized both sides of the character: the superhero and Clark Kent’s responsibilities as a husband and father. At Paris Manga, Tyler Hoechlin consequently brought together audiences attached to Teen Wolf, DC television, Superman and his wider film career.

Emilie de Ravin: Roswell, Lost and Once Upon a Time

Australian actress Emilie de Ravin came to acting after extensive ballet training, including study at the Australian Ballet School. Soon after moving to Los Angeles, she secured the role of Tess Harding in Roswell, appearing in the science-fiction series from 2000 to 2002. The role placed Emilie de Ravin inside an early example of the passionate online fandom culture that would become increasingly important to genre television.

In 2004, Emilie de Ravin joined Lost as Claire Littleton, the pregnant survivor of Oceanic Flight 815. Lost became one of the defining television dramas of its era, and Claire remained one of the characters closely associated with the mystery surrounding the island. Alongside television, Emilie de Ravin appeared in films including Brick, The Hills Have Eyes, Public Enemies and Remember Me, the latter opposite Robert Pattinson.

A further fantasy landmark came with Once Upon a Time, where Emilie de Ravin played Belle. Initially appearing in a recurring capacity, Emilie de Ravin became a series regular and remained closely linked to the character across the show’s run, including a return for the series finale. With Roswell, Lost and Once Upon a Time in her career, her presence at Paris Manga connected naturally with an audience built around science fiction, fantasy and long-running television worlds.

A concise Q&A format with a wide pop-culture reach

The approximately thirty-minute Paris Manga session relied on a straightforward convention format: three actors together, questions from the host, then questions from fans. That simplicity was also its strength. Instead of centering the event on a single franchise, the panel placed several decades of screen culture in the same conversation, from the 1980s phenomenon of Back to the Future to the 2000s television impact of Lost and the later fandoms surrounding Teen Wolf, Once Upon a Time and Superman & Lois.

For the 40th edition of Paris Manga & Sci-Fi Show by TGS, the panel stood out as a compact meeting of cinema and television histories. Christopher Lloyd, Emilie de Ravin and Tyler Hoechlin arrived with distinct careers, but each has played characters that developed lasting fan communities. Bringing them together at Paris Nord Villepinte gave Saturday’s audience a rare shared moment between those different generations of viewers without requiring the guests to belong to the same film, series or fictional universe.
