On Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 7 pm Eastern, 4 pm Pacific, at the Javits Center, attendees had the opportunity to welcome the mastermind behind some of the most thrilling and peculiar horror movies of recent years: Jason Blum, the founder of Blumhouse Productions.
As they stepped back in time, attendees prepared to dive into the darkest depths of cinematic horror as Jason Blum took center stage to unravel the spine-tingling secrets behind his Blumhouse empire. With titles like M3GAN, the Halloween trilogy, The Black Phone, and the highly anticipated Five Nights at Freddy’s,Blumhouse Productions had already cemented itself as a powerhouse in the horror genre.
Blumhouse Productions had had a whirlwind year, with the latest installment of Insidious already haunting theaters and an all-new chapter in The Exorcist, under the direction of David Gordon Green, as well as a bone-chilling adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy’s waiting in the wings for the weeks surrounding NYCC. This had made the Blumhouse panel at New York Comic Con 2023 a victory lap of all things horror.
That unforgettable panel, aptly titled Blumfest NYCC, had left fans of the macabre screaming for more. Jason Blum had taken the stage to divulge exclusive details about the company's terrifying upcoming films, including Five Nights at Freddy’s, Night Swim, and Totally Killer.
