Par le producteur de La La Land, Teen Spirit propulse Elle Fanning sur le devant de la scène dans cette histoire de Cendrillon des temps modernes. Sur fond de musique pop, il est question de devenir adulte, réaliser ses rêves et trouver sa voie. Il s’agit du premier film écrit et réalisé par Max Minghella. On retrouve au casting également Rebecca Hall et Zlatko Buric.

Des chansons de Robyn, Ellie Goulding, Tegan & Sara, Annie Lennox, Orbital, Sigrid, Carly Rae Jepsen and Jack Antonoff seront interprétées et revisitées par Elle Fanning. D’autres chansons du film seront interprétées par Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Grimes, The Undertones, Aqua, Alice Deejay, Whigfield, Mazor Lazer, No doubt. La sortie du film est annoncée pour le 5 avril aux Etats-Unis et sera distribué par Bleecker Street and LD Entertainment quant à la sortie francaise, le film sera distribué par Metropolitan FilmExport et il faudra patientier jusqu’au 26 juin 2019.
