Serie - Legion 2nd season , from Marvel comics to FX Networks

Par Lola, 03 avril 2018

Since 2017, FX Productions in association with Marvel TV have broadcasted on the FX channel “Legion”, a show based on the mutant character of the Marvel comics with the same name from the X-Men Series. This a parallel story of the most recent X-Men movies, and long before other series’ story like “The Gifted” so it may shares details with those stories. It’s set on a time when mutants begin to burst and just a few people know about them, like the government whose is interested in maintains control over something unknown at the moment.

Legion is center on David Haller (Dan Stevens), a man whose life has been difficult due to his schizophrenia. Little he knew it wasn’t as everyone else told him, the voices he heard was because of his telepathic powers. David was an inmate in an asylum where he meets Sydney “Syd” Barret (Rachel Keller) and they fall in love for each other.
During the eight episodes of the first season we discover along with David about his past in flashback scenes intertwined with present scenes; his unconsciously hiding something –more like someone- from the rest of the world, even from himself! As the season continues we learn the guest on David’s mind was Amahl Farouk “Shadow king” disguised as his friend Lenny Busker (Aubrey Plaza). Meanwhile Syd together with Melanie Bird (Jean Smart), Ptonomy Wallace (Jeremie Harris), Cary and Kerry Loudermilk (Bill Irwin, Amber Midthunder) fight Shadow king and Division 3 at the same time as David learn to control his powers.

This series needs to be seen carefully trying not to lose the thread because of the flashback scenes and the hallucination scenes are hypnotizing. The sound editing with the music chosen for the episodes are so great they make you feel like a part of the story; if the characters sense danger, we feel the danger, if David feels lost, we get lost with him. Every episode is a thrilling involving experience, from shots in the foreground to even dancing scenes out nowhere, like a psycotropic drug trip, but safe.

On Tuesday March 3rd a new season premiered. The renewal of Legion for a second season was made in March 2017, with 10 episodes this time, and after last season amazing cliffhanger, the first episode didn’t disappoint. This chapter set more questions instead of giving answer of the previous ones presented in the first season. We’re hoping to keep responding and erasing doubts as the season develops, as well to see more new-old characters bring to life in this parallel world of mutants and to keep surprising us! You can catch up the complete first season of Legion on Netflix, and every Tuesday is a brand new episode on FX.

Synopsis:
David Haller was diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age and has been a patient in various psychiatric hospitals since. After Haller has an encounter with a fellow psychiatric patient, he is confronted with the possibility that there may be more to him than mental illness.Hunted by the government agency Division III in the first season, Haller is saved by a group of mutants at a facility called Summerland, who explain that he is also a mutant. Haller eventually discovers that his mind is infected by the parasitic mutant Amahl Farouk / Shadow King, and is able to force the villain from his mind. In the second season, Haller is trapped by a mysterious orb, and in his absence his Summerland allies join with Division III to stop Farouk and his plan to amass world-ending power.
