Venom is a new superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, produced by Columbia Pictures and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It is the first film in Sony's Marvel Universe, adjunct to the Marvel Cinematic Universe . The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer, from a screenplay by Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner and Kelly Marcel. The cast includes Tom Hardy (Eddie Brock / Venom) and Michelle Williams. It is the first spin-off from the Spider-Man film franchise.
