
The Sound is the feature film directorial debut from writer/director/producer Jenna Mattison (For The Love of Money) exploring the auditory roots of fear. A powerful mix of horror and psychological thriller The Sound” being released by Samuel Goldwyn Films theatrically September 29th nationwide as well as Digital/VOD, and stars Rose McGowan (Charmed), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future trilogy), Michael Eklund (Watchmen), Richard Gunn (Netflix’s Hemlock Grove), and Jane Moffat (Mama). The Sound was written and directed by Jenna Mattison. The film is produced by Geoff Hart, Jenna Mattison, Allan Ungar, Michele Weisler, and Executive Produced by Cody Hackman, Mike Hattim Louie Maisano, Bruno Marino, Ben McConley, Jason Van Eman, Vincenzo Varallo, and Marino Kulas.

Jenna Mattison is a screenwriter, filmmaker and bestselling novelist with her screenwriting work displayed at the Academy Of Motion Pictures Library Core Collection. Her films For The Love of Money, Fish Without a Bicycle, The Third Wish, Committed, Gridlocked are available worldwide.

The Sound which she also wrote is Mattison's directorial debut. She produced the film alongside the producer of The Ring franchise and the movie will be released in theaters by MGM in 2017. She is currently in development on her TV series being produced by Imprint Entertainment (Twilight Movies), Stephen Emery (Gran Torino), Lou Fusaro (Ray Donavan, Californication) and directed by David Von Anken (Hell On Wheels) set in New Mexico, Navajo Country. Mattison returned to filmmaking after an accident that left her semi paralyzed and deaf. After years of surgery and rehabilitation she is thrilled to be working and creating again.

Film Synopsis:
Kelly (Rose McGowan) is a writer and a skeptic of the supernatural. As a specialist in acoustic physics she uses low frequency tactile sound-waves to debunk reported paranormal activities for her online blog. When presented a new case of a supposedly haunted subway station Kelly sets off to uncover the truth behind the hoax that involves a 40-year-old unexplained suicide. Her investigation takes her deep into the abandoned station where her skepticism is tested. As Kelly ascends into the depths of the metro's darkness she is confronted by an unforeseen evil. In the vastness, she must face her own haunted memories to find the truth and surface back into the light.
