Musique de films - Baywatch : Seth Gordon and Christopher Lennertz reunite for the fifh time

Christopher Lennertz has a long relationship with director/writer Seth Gordon and his rock meets electronic meets orchestral scores for Gordon comedies is accentuated with high drama for the action/adventure/comedy BAYWATCH. Award-winning composer Christopher Lennertz (Supernatural, Identity Thief, Horrible Bosses,) reunites for a fifth time with director Seth Gordon (The Goldbergs, Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief) to score BAYWATCH, the big-screen re-boot of the ‘90s TV show.

BAYWATCH follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchanan (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) and new brash recruit (Zac Efron) as they team-up to stop a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra, Kelly Rohrbach, Alexandra Daddario, Ilfenesh Hadera, Jon Bass, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and original TV cast members David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. BAYWATCH opens and digital album available May 26th. The Baywatch score CD will be released by Lala Records on June 6.

For BAYWATCH, composer Christopher Lennertz’ score reflects a rock meets electronic meets orchestral approach; this musical palate the composer has incorporated for other projects with Seth Gordon. To give the rock-inspired score an authentic band sound, Lennertz brought in rock musicians including Michael McCready from Pearl Jam and David Lavita. Christopher Lennertz explains, “We wanted to make sure it sounded like recording an album, more than a scoring session. I wanted an all-star band making a record that also happened to fit the score of this movie.”

Christopher Lennertz’ success in scoring encompasses all genres including box office hit comedies’ Identity Thief, Horrible Bosses; family films’ Alvin and the Chipmunks and Hop. Lennertz has also collaborated with music giants including Basil Poledouris, Michael Kamen, Dave Grusin, RZA, Alien Ant Farm, members of Pearl Jam, Jane’s Addiction and Dave Matthews Band. His groundbreaking collaboration with Ozomatli on “Street Signs” garnered a Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock Album. Lennertz’ credits in video games include the final installments to both Mass Effect 3, Starhawk, Medal of Honor, the James Bond: 007 series, Gun, and Madden NFL 25. His TV credits include Marvel’s Agent Carter for which he also co-wrote an original song with Oscar-nominee David Zippel. Lennertz also scored the musical comedy Galavant, where he collaborated with Oscar-winning composer and songwriter Alan Menken (Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas). Lennertz co-scored with Menken the animated film Sausage Party created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

Synopsis:
Mitch Buchannon, the gung-ho leader of the elite Baywatch lifeguard squad, clashes with new recruit Matt Brody, a washed-up pro athlete brought in as the new face of the organization. However, when a dead body is recovered from the ocean, the two must put aside their personal differences and work with their team to stop a criminal mastermind's drug trafficking operation.
