Marvel Contest of Champions 2026: October Update
Marvel Contest of Champions 2026: Ghost Rider Ignites October
Friday 2 October, 12:28 PM PT
Kabam is turning October into one of the busiest supernatural chapters of Marvel Contest of Champions’ 2026 calendar, combining two Champion arrivals with a reality-bending Event Quest, Summoner’s Choice voting, a new-player giveaway and the Ultimate Doom Sweepstakes. At the center are Piotr Rasputin, appearing as Colossus (Age of Apocalypse), and Robbie Reyes, the car-driving Ghost Rider. Colossus is scheduled to become obtainable on October 15, followed by Ghost Rider on October 29. The pair pushes the roster beyond a simple Halloween theme: one is a hardened alternate-reality mutant shaped by the Age of Apocalypse, while the other brings Marvel’s modern Spirit of Vengeance mythology into The Battlerealm.
Colossus and Robbie Reyes headline Closer to the Edge
The monthly Event Quest, Closer to the Edge, runs from October 7 to November 4 and continues the Web of Corruption storyline. After months away, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man 2099 return with a warning that the crisis has spread to the structure of The Battlerealm itself. The resulting instability pulls Colossus (Age of Apocalypse) and Ghost Rider into the conflict as reality begins to fracture. The pairing is unusual: the severe Age of Apocalypse version of Piotr Rasputin is unable to return to human form after catastrophic injuries, while Robbie Reyes is rooted in East Los Angeles and became Ghost Rider after his death and supernatural bond with his uncle Eli Morrow. Marvel’s own character history traces Robbie Reyes to All-New Ghost Rider #1 in 2014, giving this game debut more than a decade of comic-book history behind it.

Summoner’s Choice 2027 turns into a Spider-Verse election
Kabam’s seventh annual Summoner’s Choice vote begins October 9 and focuses entirely on Spider-Verse possibilities for a Champion planned for 2027. The eight candidates are Doppelganger, Spiders-Man, Araña, Webslinger, Cyborg Spider-Man, Rek-Rap, Spider-Byte and Spider-Ma’am, a field ranging from a hive mind of spiders to a demonic Spider-Man admirer and an alternate May Parker. Players must reach Level 6 to participate. Voting is divided into three rounds: October 9–12, October 16–19 and October 23–26, each ending at 11:00 a.m. PT. Solo Objectives and free Webstore bundles provide Voting Selectors, and each Selector represents five votes. The winning Champion is scheduled to be announced during the November 2 Marvel Contest of Champions livestream.
Graveyard Shift gives newcomers a ten-Champion horror roster
The seasonal push is not limited to veteran Summoners. New accounts created from September 30 at 5:00 p.m. PT through November 3 at 4:59 p.m. PT can access the Graveyard Shift New Player Bundle, which offers ten Champions chosen to fit the darker October mood: Kushala, Cosmic Ghost Rider, Wiccan, Hulk Immortal, Abomination Immortal, Black Widow (Claire Voyant), Mister Sinister, Morningstar, Venompool and Scream. The package gives first-time players a themed roster rather than a single promotional character, tying onboarding into the month’s supernatural identity.

Symbiote Generals and Last Struggle deepen the October schedule
October 14 adds two more substantial activities. Epilogue Part 4: Last Struggle concludes the effort to reconstruct a 7-Star Carina Tivan and confront the remaining threat of the Chronoserpent. On the same day, the Symbiote Generals Side Quest begins and runs through November 4. It brings back the Summoned Symbiote for a progression-focused gauntlet in which completed paths grant temporary exclusive buffs. The design turns the small companion into an increasingly capable fighter as players work through Knull’s Generals, with the ultimate goal of becoming strong enough to challenge Knull himself.
Ultimate Doom Sweepstakes links the game to Avengers: Doomsday
Running alongside the October content is Kabam’s 2026 Ultimate Doom Sweepstakes, open from September 16 at 5:00 p.m. PT until December 9 at 5:00 p.m. PT in eligible jurisdictions. The headline prize is a trip for two to the Los Angeles world premiere of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday, while four additional winners can receive trips for two to a fan screening at the El Capitan Theatre. Other prizes include devices, gift cards, in-game Units and Champions. Kabam’s official rules list 3,991 prizes with a total approximate retail value of $23,296, or about €20,040. Entrants need a Kabam ID and must register for the sweepstakes; physical prizes additionally require the online entry form and are restricted to specified eligible regions. Raffle Tickets accumulate in a player’s inventory for applicable drawings rather than requiring manual redemption each time.

A month built around horror, corruption and player choice
Taken together, the October update is unusually cohesive. Ghost Rider’s hellfire, the permanent armored form of Age of Apocalypse Colossus, symbiote enemies and the Graveyard Shift giveaway all reinforce a darker seasonal tone, while Summoner’s Choice gives the community direct influence over a future roster addition. The Web of Corruption storyline provides the connective tissue, moving the game from individual threats toward a Battlerealm that is itself coming apart. With Champion releases staggered across October, quests extending into November and the Ultimate Doom Sweepstakes continuing into December, Kabam has structured the update as the opening of a longer end-of-year run rather than a self-contained Halloween event.
