This weekend marks the return of the French Spring Cinema Festival. For three days, from Sunday, March 22nd to Tuesday, March 24th inclusive, cinema tickets are just €5 for all films, at all screenings, and in all cinemas across France. Even at the most prestigious cinemas in France, like the Grand Rex, tickets are only €5! This annual event is organized by the National Federation of French Cinemas (FNCF), which represents the 6,000 cinemas in France.
To create the promotional film for this year's event, the French National Federation of Cinemas once again gave free rein to director Julien Rocher. The film features Spoilerman, played by Ahmed Sylla, a superhero who protects against spoilers. Clad in his skintight superhero suit, he moves at lightning speed to interrupt, in his own unique way, any revelation that would ruin the surprise of a film. A savior for all moviegoers who want to preserve the pure joy of discovering a new film on the big screen. Humorously subverting the conventions of blockbusters with invincible superheroes, the comedy encourages viewers to see the latest films in theaters and avoid any spoilers, taking advantage of the special price of 5 euros offered during these three days.
Among recent films, Jumpers is perfect for a fun outing or a family movie night with its original concept of a teenager who enters the bodies of animals. Alter Ego, starring Laurent Lafitte, is a successful and daring French comedy. If you prefer more socially conscious and moving films, The House of Women offers a powerful and humane look at a center that helps women who are victims of violence. If you're not afraid of a 3-hour and 15-minute film, Rays and Shadows retraces the insidious spiral leading from idealism to ignominy during World War II. If you like science fiction, The Last Chance Project, starring Ryan Gosling and Rocky, a little alien, blends adventure, humor, and emotion. Finally, Scream 7 is still in theaters. As is our friend the Marsupilami.
This event could not be organized without the major support of the "Construction" sector, the CCCA-BTP, because movie theaters are built by human beings. In Time Out magazine's ranking of the best movie theaters in the world, six French theaters are featured: the Grand Rex with its starry sky and immense auditorium, the legendary Eden Théâtre in La Ciotat, the oldest cinema in the world (in operation since 1899), the Colisée in Carcassonne with its Art Nouveau stucco, the Champo, an enduring icon of the Latin Quarter, the Studio 28 in Montmartre, and the Louxor, with its neo-Egyptian splendor. This theater, saved by residents' associations in the Barbès neighborhood of Paris, represents a powerful symbol of the resilience of cinema in the age of smartphone screens. In first place is the famous Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, a testament to Hollywood's golden age. The event is also supported by Canal+, AlloCiné and Europe 2. You can also win year of cinema on the AlloCiné website.
