Events - The Cheese Experience: an immersive cheese adventure coming to Paris on December 4, 2025

By Mulder, 13 november 2025

In Paris, some new things catch the eye, others arouse curiosity... and then there are those that instantly make your mouth water. This is exactly the case with The Cheese Experience, a completely new immersive journey that will open its doors on December 4, 2025, in the Passage Jouffroy, in the heart of the Grands Boulevards. Think you know everything there is to know about cheese tasting? Wait until you step through the door: here, everything you think you know is revisited with audacity, humor, and a pinch of magic. The concept is based on a simple and devilishly effective idea: transforming a very French gourmet ritual into a true sensory spectacle where storytelling, scenography, and conviviality go hand in hand. With just a few weeks to go before the opening, we got a glimpse of what awaits visitors, and frankly... it makes us want to go back as soon as it launches.

The tour consists of a series of nine rooms, each dedicated to a different cheese, with an immersive decor that tells its story in a fun and offbeat way. Groups move forward together, pushing a shared cart—the true secondary hero of the adventure—on which the cheeses to be tasted rest under glass domes. In each room, the same delightful choreography takes place: a witty voice-over reveals the origins, manufacturing secrets, and juicy anecdotes, followed by the long-awaited signal for everyone to lift the cloche together to taste, savor, and share. This idea alone creates an almost ceremonial atmosphere which, let's be honest, could get you hooked from the very first room. And as the scenography draws as much on the energy of Pixar films as on the dry humor of Kaamelott, you can expect an adventure that is as delicious as it is hilarious.

The experience is not just fun: it is also gastronomically serious. The 120 grams of cheese tasted along the way are selected by Meilleur Ouvrier de France Gérard Petit, a guarantee of excellence that will instantly raise the expectations of both connoisseurs and the curious. Those who want to prolong the party can opt for carefully selected wine or fruit juice pairings, ensuring that the experience is as harmonious as a good cheese platter served at your favorite cheese shop. And since we all know that moment when we regret not being able to take home a gourmet souvenir, the shop at the exit will offer the cheeses tasted as well as collectibles.

But one of the great strengths of The Cheese Experience is its narrative universe. Throughout the tour, visitors encounter the “Cheesiz,” colorful, funny, sometimes slightly crazy, and totally endearing cheese characters. We're already thinking of Blue Roquefort, a rocker with a husky voice and a vibrant personality, or Brother Munster, a monk who's a little too fond of the bottle but adorable nonetheless. These characters set a light and accessible tone, perfect for an outing with family or friends. And since each group votes for their favorite Cheesiz at the end, the experience ends on a participatory note that further reinforces the feeling of a shared adventure.

Behind this delightfully offbeat project is Fabrice Gepner, a cheese enthusiast who decided ten years ago to leave everything behind to live out his passion. Now a cheese maker, content creator with over 60,000 followers on Instagram and TikTok (@lecheesegeek), and author of Le Cheese Book, Fabrice Gepner wanted to use this experience to create what he calls a “taster” of his ultimate dream: a 1,500 m² Cheese Palace in Paris. And as it takes shape, this first immersive adventure looks set to become a must-see winter event.

For those who want to experience this sensory odyssey as soon as it opens, online reservations will open on November 20, 2025, and places are likely to sell out very quickly, as the concept seems tailor-made to appeal to foodies and the curious alike. The experience will run from December 4, 2025, to January 31, 2026, with slots tailored to families, night owls, and weekend strollers. Prices remain affordable—€22 for adults, €16 for those under 18, and even a discounted family rate—making it an ideal outing for the holidays or for a fun time off the beaten path.

The Cheese Experience promises to be much more than just a tasting: it's a collective adventure, a celebration of French cheese heritage, and an inventive way to rediscover a timeless pleasure from a completely new angle. If you were looking for an original outing idea for this winter, an experience to share with others, or simply a good reason to put cheese back at the center of the table... you've just found it. Starting December 4, get ready to lift the lid and enjoy cheese in a whole new way.
