When DC arrives at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2025, it will do so with a purpose far greater than simply showcasing new comics or collectibles—it will kick off a decade-long celebration of the publisher’s historic march toward its 100th anniversary. From Wednesday, July 23, to Sunday, July 27, Booth #4544 on the convention floor will be transformed into a sprawling, immersive tribute to the first decade of DC's legendary history, the years 1935 to 1945. With a retro 1940s-inspired Daily Planet newsstand offering fans a free, specially printed “newspaper” full of archival ads and sneak peeks, DC will not only provide nostalgia but a thematic lens through which it will frame its presence at SDCC for the next ten years. The idea is both bold and reverent: each Comic-Con from now until 2035 will reflect a decade of DC history, celebrating how the world’s greatest superheroes evolved across generations.
Fans visiting the booth will find themselves surrounded by not just visuals, but storytelling experiences that highlight DC’s earliest years—the age of New Fun #1, the birth of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the foundation of superhero mythology as we know it. But make no mistake, this activation won’t be all looking back. DC will use this celebration as a launchpad for what’s next across comics, games, animation, and live-action. Exclusive panels, signings, activations, and merchandise will offer fans not just commemorative nostalgia, but forward-facing revelations, including new titles, creative teams, and crossover events that reflect where DC is heading creatively.
One of the most anticipated events will be the return of the fan-favorite “Jim Lee and Friends” panel on Saturday at 5:15PM. Jim Lee, the ever-charismatic President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer of DC, will once again bring together top-tier creatives and special guests for an hour that’s always packed with surprises, reveals, and spontaneous energy. His influence won’t just be limited to panels, either—his artwork will adorn a range of exclusive covers and prints available only at the DC Booth, including stunning new foil variants and “Absolute” editions of flagship characters like Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Also, fans should be on the lookout for the Superman Unlimited #1 “SUPERMAN x FORTNITE” foil variant cover, a powerful symbol of DC’s ongoing ambition to blend pop culture relevancy with publishing prestige.
Speaking of Fortnite, DC will break new ground this year by teaming with Epic Games for the first-ever Fortnite x DC crossover playable inside the DC Booth. Fans will get to try Blitz Royale mode and receive limited-edition posters illustrated by none other than Jim Lee. This crossover isn’t just playable—it’s performative. From Thursday to Saturday, DC will livestream directly from the booth on Twitch and YouTube, turning its SDCC presence into a digital experience accessible worldwide. Meanwhile, across the booth’s gaming zone, fans can also demo DC Worlds Collide, the upcoming mobile RPG that allows players to build dream teams of heroes and villains and battle the infamous Crime Syndicate. With 70+ characters to choose from, dynamic campaign modes, and layered RPG mechanics, this game is expected to be a standout activation, made even more enticing by poster giveaways and a massive 20-foot display anchoring the space.
In a more heartwarming corner of the booth, DC will be teaming up with Milk-Bone® to celebrate a different kind of heroism: the bond between superheroes and their loyal pets. The original 12-page comic Superman: A Friendship Unleashed, written by Ivan Cohen and illustrated by Travis Mercer, will be available as a convention-exclusive “virgin” cover—no logos, no trade dress, just stunning art. Attendees who purchase the Milk-Bone x SUPERMAN box will receive a free copy while supplies last. Additionally, fans can take pictures in front of a giant lightbox featuring the comic’s artwork, and on Sunday morning from 11:00AM to 1:00PM, visitors can meet a real-life league of caped canines through Guide Dogs of America’s “Tender Loving Canines” program.
As always, DC's publishing arm will play a major role at SDCC. Three key comic panels—DC ALL IN: WHAT’S NEXT, METROPOLIS AND BEYOND, and GOTHAM CITY—will spotlight the future of storytelling from creators such as Scott Snyder, Joshua Williamson, Tom King, Mark Waid, Nicole Maines, Dan Jurgens, Matt Fraction, and many more. These sessions are expected to reveal upcoming arcs, new creative teams, and special initiatives like the “Absolute” line that reimagines iconic characters for a modern audience. Meanwhile, in-booth signings with names like Bilquis Evely, Nick Dragotta, Deniz Camp, and Hayden Sherman will give fans the rare chance to connect one-on-one with the writers and artists shaping the stories they love.
On the entertainment side, DC Studios and HBO Max will host a blockbuster Peacemaker Season Two panel in Hall H on Saturday at 3:30PM. With James Gunn, John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, and more of the cast set to attend, this panel promises exclusive footage—including the global trailer debut—and a hilarious, irreverent conversation moderated by Josh Horowitz. For animation fans, the Batman Azteca: Choque De Imperios panel will take center stage earlier that same day. Set in the Aztec Empire, this unique reinterpretation of the Dark Knight blends cultural storytelling with superhero tropes, and offers a refreshing take on Bruce Wayne’s legacy—this time through the lens of a young Aztec boy named Yohualli Coatl.
Merchandise seekers will also find their share of SDCC treasures at the DC Shop inside the booth. From the limited “Legends Forever” hoodie and pet-friendly Superman gear to a 24K gold-plated S-shield necklace and Peacemaker “Eat Peace” apparel, the exclusives reflect both the gravitas and fun of the DC brand. And fans who can’t make it in person won’t be left out—the DC Shop’s online counterpart will also roll out a new “First Edition” collection and Peacemaker gear timed with the con.
Interactive activations will further elevate the booth experience. Progressive Insurance will sponsor a life-sized Action Comics #1 photo booth, allowing fans to pose like Superman himself—lifting a car in true 1938 fashion. And of course, there’s the return of “The Joker Is Wild,” DC’s trivia-meets-slot-machine fan game hosted by Tim Sheridan and joined this year by “Professor” Mark Waid. With exclusive prizes, hilarious trivia, and a nightly crowd, this game show is becoming one of SDCC’s most beloved late-day traditions.
Beyond Booth #4544, DC will extend its influence across the floor. McFarlane Toys will debut an ultra-rare Batman-Superman Fusion digital collectible, with only 12 hand-painted 1-of-1 physical variants available to win through a hybrid physical-digital contest. Collectors will want to beeline for Booth #1915, where the shimmering figures will be displayed. Meanwhile, Funko and Mondo will return with their own DC exclusives—featuring everything from Kingdom Come Batman Pops! to Knightfall Azrael figures—available at Booths #5341 and #5045 respectively.
All this is just a taste of what DC is preparing for SDCC 2025. With immersive history, next-gen creativity, and a sincere connection to its fanbase, DC is aiming to prove that this isn’t just another Comic-Con—it’s the beginning of a ten-year journey honoring superheroes who have transcended time, media, and cultural borders. Whether you're diving into the Absolute Batman line, petting a caped canine, playing a new mobile RPG, or hearing Jim Lee reveal a surprise on stage, one thing is guaranteed: SDCC 2025 will mark the moment where the past and future of DC collided—and the story was just getting started.
