At the eagerly-awaited D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disneyland Paris struck back with a series of announcements that promise to transform the visitor experience for years to come. Held from August 9 to 11 in Anaheim, California, this must-attend event for Disney fans was the scene of spectacular revelations about the future of Europe's leading tourist destination. Among the most striking announcements were the arrival of a unique themed zone dedicated to The Lion King, and the opening in 2026 of World of Frozen, an immersive space inspired by the film The Snow Queen.
An Unprecedented Immersion in the Lion King Universe
One of the highlights of the event was the announcement of the world's first attraction dedicated to The Lion King, which will come to life at the heart of Disney Adventure World, Disneyland Paris' second park. This all-new themed zone will plunge visitors into the heart of the African savannah, allowing them to relive the adventures of Simba, Timon, Pumbaa and other iconic characters from the cult film. The centerpiece of the attraction will be Lions' Rock, a mythical site offering a spectacular, immersive experience. Visitors will be able to embark on a journey through the key moments of Simba's story, from his childhood to his coronation as King, recreating the emotion of the original animated film. The attraction will be more than just a ride; it will offer total immersion thanks to striking sets, innovative special effects and the use of the latest Audio-Animatronics® technologies to bring the characters to life in a unique aquatic adventure. This project represents a crucial step in the expansion of Disneyland Paris, confirming its ambition to continue offering original experiences that capture the imagination of visitors of all ages.
World of Frozen: A Dive into the Kingdom of Arendelle
Before visitors can discover the Land of Lions, 2026 will mark the long-awaited opening of World of Frozen. This space, also located in Disney Adventure World, will recreate the enchanting kingdom of Arendelle. Visitors will be invited to explore this icy world through a new attraction that will take them on an epic journey alongside the heroines, Anna and Elsa. In addition to the main attraction, the zone will offer fully themed shopping and culinary experiences, allowing complete immersion in the magical world of The Snow Queen. One of the most exciting elements of the new land will be a never-before-seen night show, which will take place over Adventure Bay's central lake. Using aquatic drone technology, developed in collaboration with Dronisos, this show promises to offer a never-before-seen choreography of light and special effects, blending fountains, water screens and other visual wonders to create a spectacular finale each evening.
A New Nighttime Show at Disneyland Park from 2025
From January 2025, Disneyland Park will host an all-new nighttime show that promises to enchant visitors. This show pushes the boundaries of previous shows, using an innovative combination of projections, lighting effects and fountains to immerse audiences in sequences inspired by Disney and Pixar films. One of the show's distinguishing features will be its integration of Main Street, U.S.A., offering a 360° experience where visitors will be surrounded by their favorite characters and worlds. With this new production, Disneyland Paris continues its commitment to reinventing the experience of its nighttime shows, offering a new way for visitors to end the day. This show will enhance the park's already impressive offering, making every visit a unique and unforgettable experience.
A Global Transformation of Disneyland Paris
These announcements are part of a wider transformation of Disneyland Paris, which has embarked on a series of ambitious projects to modernize and expand its offerings. In addition to new attractions and theme zones, the park is continuing to renovate its iconic hotels, including the transformation of the Disneyland Hotel, which will reopen in 2024, and the planned makeover of the bungalows at Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch. The latter will be entirely redecorated to reflect the adventures of Donald and his nephews, offering a fun, family-friendly setting. Disney Village, the retail and entertainment space adjacent to the parks, is also undergoing a major overhaul. New boutique and restaurant concepts will be introduced, reinforcing the appeal of this key destination for park visitors. The objective is clear: to offer an ever more immersive and diversified experience, true to the Disney spirit.
Towards a New Chapter in the History of Disneyland Paris
By constantly pushing back the boundaries of innovation and creativity, Disneyland Paris is reaffirming its status as Europe's leading entertainment and hospitality destination. The projects unveiled at D23 testify to the destination's commitment to enriching the visitor experience, while retaining the very essence of Disney magic that has won over generations of fans. With the arrival of these new attractions, breathtaking shows and the ongoing transformation of its infrastructure, Disneyland Paris is preparing to enter a new era, where every visitor can experience unforgettable moments in a setting more immersive than ever. Those who dream of discovering Simba's wild Africa or walking in Anna and Elsa's footsteps through the icy landscapes of Arendelle will have only to look forward to 2026, which is already shaping up to be a pivotal year for Disneyland Paris. In the meantime, the park continues to reinvent itself, offering every visitor the opportunity to plunge into the heart of the Disney adventure, where magic knows no bounds.
