The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is gearing up for the highly anticipated San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2024 with exciting service expansions and exclusive offerings. This year’s convention will take place from July 25-28 at the San Diego Convention Center, and MTS is making sure fans have smooth and enjoyable transportation options.

MTS will operate a special event trolley line starting Thursday, July 25, providing expanded services to crucial locations such as the Convention Center and 12th & Imperial Transit Center. This dedicated line will run every 15 minutes, catering to the influx of attendees. The route includes UC San Diego Blue Line stations between Balboa Avenue and Santa Fe Depot, and extends along the Green Line from Santa Fe Depot to 12th & Imperial.

In addition to the special event line, MTS will continue running its regular Green, Blue, and Orange Lines with adjustments to their schedules to better accommodate the SDCC crowd. This ensures comprehensive coverage and convenience for all transit users during the event.

Adding to the Comic-Con excitement, MTS trolleys will be adorned with themed wraps from popular shows like Abbott Elementary and Snowpiercer, creating a festive atmosphere as the city welcomes thousands of fans.

New this year, MTS introduces a limited edition Comic-Con exclusive PRONTO card, featuring the iconic Comic-Con International eye logo. These cards will be available for purchase at the MTS Transit Store (100 Trolley Plz) starting July 15, or at select ticket machines with a $2 surcharge starting July 23. Fans can also buy discounted Comic-Con passes through the PRONTO app, available on both Apple and Android devices.

Pass options and pricing include a 5-Day Pass for $20, a 4-Day Pass for $16, a 3-Day Pass for $13, and a 2-Day Pass for $10. These passes offer fans a hassle-free way to navigate the city during the convention, ensuring they can focus on enjoying the event without worrying about transportation logistics.
