Hasbro has thrilled Marvel fans with the announcement of a new addition to their popular Marvel Legends Series: the Man-Thing action figure. This latest release is inspired by the character's recent appearance in Marvel Studios’ special Werewolf by Night, making it the first time Theodore Ted Sallis, also known as Man-Thing, has been adapted from live-action media into an action figure. This figure captures the character's unique, swampy aesthetic, featuring a new torso, head, forearms, and shins, meticulously designed to mirror his on-screen counterpart.

The Man-Thing action figure stands at 6 inches tall and comes with two alternate hands, allowing fans to customize their display. With over 20 points of articulation, the figure is capable of a wide range of dynamic poses, making it a versatile piece for both play and display. The collectible window box packaging, adorned with movie-inspired artwork, enhances its appeal for collectors. This packaging not only protects the figure but also serves as a stunning display piece that fits seamlessly with other Marvel Legends figures.

Man-Thing has a rich history in Marvel Comics, first appearing in Savage Tales #1 in 1971, created by Stan Lee, Roy Thomas, Gerry Conway, and artist Gray Morrow. The character of Dr. Theodore Ted Sallis transforms into Man-Thing after a tragic experiment gone wrong, resulting in his transformation into a slow-moving, empathic swamp monster. Man-Thing's unique ability to sense human emotions and react strongly to fear, secreting a powerful corrosive that burns those who are afraid, has made him a distinctive and memorable character in the Marvel Universe.

In addition to his comic book origins, Man-Thing has appeared in various forms of media over the years. He made his live-action debut in the 2005 film Man-Thing, portrayed by Conan Stevens. More recently, he appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) special Werewolf by Night in 2022. This appearance was brought to life through motion capture by Carey Jones, with additional vocalizations provided by Jeffrey Ford. In Werewolf by Night, Man-Thing is kidnapped and taken to Bloodstone Manor, where he is hunted for sport. This storyline adds depth to his character, showcasing his monstrous power and unique abilities in a compelling narrative.

The new Man-Thing action figure is priced at $39.99 and is slated for release in Fall 2024. However, fans won't have to wait that long to secure their own figure. Pre-orders begin on June 13 at 1 PM ET, exclusively through fan channel retailers. This figure is expected to be highly sought after, given its detailed design and the character's significant role in both comic and cinematic history.

For collectors and fans of the Marvel Legends Series, the Man-Thing action figure is a must-have addition. Its release not only celebrates the character's enduring legacy but also provides an opportunity for fans to bring a piece of the Marvel Universe into their own homes. As Hasbro continues to expand its Marvel Legends line, figures like Man-Thing demonstrate their commitment to delivering high-quality, detailed representations of beloved characters from the Marvel Universe.
