Largo Winch: The Price of Money, the long-awaited sequel to the Largo Winch franchise, is set to make a big splash on the big screen. Directed by the talented Olivier Masset-Depasse, this Franco-Belgian film promises to captivate fans with a suspenseful, action-packed plot. Scheduled for release in 2024, the film promises to be a major turning point for the saga, introducing new elements and complex characters that will bring unprecedented depth to the Largo Winch universe.

Largo Winch: The Price of Money is the direct sequel to Largo Winch 2 (2011). Adapted from the famous comic strips by Jean Van Hamme and Philippe Francq, this third installment is based on volumes 13 and 14 of the series: The Price of Money and Dollar Law. The story begins tragically with the kidnapping of Largo's 15-year-old son, followed by the live suicide of a business associate. These events plunge Largo into a downward spiral where everything seems to conspire against him. The film explores how Largo, already reeling from the loss of his son, must contend with formidable enemies and Machiavellian plots that threaten to destroy not only his personal life but also Groupe W's financial empire.

The synopsis reveals a frantic quest across the globe to find her son and unravel the threads of a ruthless plot. From the forests of Canada to the mines of Burma and Bangkok, Largo will face fearsome enemies and demons from the past. Each location Largo visits promises spectacular scenes and breathtaking action sequences, reinforcing the epic dimension of his journey. This quest, full of dangers and revelations, promises to be an emotional and physical tour de force for our hero.

The director is Olivier Masset-Depasse, known for his auteur films with a strong social content, such as Illégal. Masset-Depasse describes this project as a “360-degree turn” in his career, a unique opportunity to combine action, suspense and entertainment in a single film. He enthuses about the spectacular action scenes, shot in a variety of settings from the far north of Canada to the jungles of Thailand. For the director, the film is a true declaration of love to comics and their creators, as well as being a technical and narrative challenge of the highest order. By combining his unique style with the expectations of Largo Winch fans, Masset-Depasse hopes to deliver an unforgettable cinematic experience.

Tomer Sisley takes on the role of the billionaire for the third time, with renewed commitment: “I'm back in training. We're stepping up the physical side of things, as there are still a couple of stunts to do". Her performance promises to be even more intense and physical, commensurate with the extreme challenges her character will have to overcome. Clotilde Hesme also returns, bringing her touch of grace and determination to the cast. American actor James Franco, despite past controversies, joins the cast in the role of Largo Winch's formidable enemy. This addition brings a new dimension to the film, promising memorable confrontations between the two actors.

The choice of James Franco as the main antagonist is bold and intriguing. Known for his ability to embody complex, nuanced characters, Franco brings psychological depth to his role, making the duel between his character and Largo all the more captivating. The cast is completed by Elise Tilloloy, whose role is still a mystery but promises to add a new dynamic to the plot.

Produced by Jacques-Henri Bronckart for Versus Production, the film is co-written by Olivier Masset-Depasse, Giordano Gederlini and Domenico La Porta. Production began in February 2023 in snowy Bulgaria, before moving to Thailand and Belgium, despite numerous delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic. These various locations offer a visual richness and variety of landscapes that should sublimate the film's action sequences. Each location was chosen for its unique characteristics, adding authenticity and visual diversity to the film as a whole.

Shooting in Thailand, for example, captured scenes in exotic, lush environments, while sequences in Bulgaria exploited snowy landscapes for intense, visually arresting action moments. In Belgium, teams used iconic locations and specially constructed sets to recreate some of the film's most complex scenes. Collaborative work between production teams and actors was essential in overcoming the logistical and artistic challenges posed by these multiple shooting locations.

Largo Winch: The Price of Money promises to be an action-packed thriller that will delight both fans of the series and fans of thrillers. With an intense plot, ambitious direction and an all-star cast, this third opus is set to take the Largo Winch saga to new heights. Join us on July 31, 2024 to discover this new adventure on the big screen.
