By Mulder, 21 march 2024

The Champs-Élysées Film Festival, a true celebration of French and American independent cinema, is set to light up the prestigious Parisian avenue from June 18 to 25, 2024 for its thirteenth edition. Now a must-see event for film buffs and industry professionals alike, it promises a week of discovery, sharing and celebration of cinematic diversity.

The poster for this year's event reveals a timeless, captivating image of Marilyn Monroe, the symbol of bold, visionary cinema, in the blazing light of a Californian sunset. This work, signed by Eve Arnold of Magnum Photos in 1956, marks the continuation of a fruitful collaboration with Artistic Director Alain Bourdon, celebrating the festival's unfailing link with the great figures of photography.

The 2024 program promises to be rich and eclectic, with a particular focus on the evolution of our society and contemporary challenges. It will highlight the intelligence and creative power of artists who, through their work, question the world, its mutations and its missing images. The festival will offer an exceptional panorama of the latest French and American independent productions, as well as heritage films in a dedicated thematic section.

The festival reaffirms its commitment to revealing new talent, with a selection of daring, never-before-seen films. New this year, the Club de l'Étoile and the Cinéma Mac-Mahon join partner cinemas in welcoming audiences and professionals to what promises to be a memorable event.

Once again this year, the festival is honored by the presence of exceptional personalities from the world of auteur cinema and French independent creation. Rebecca Zlotowski and Jean-Baptiste Durand will chair the feature film and short film juries respectively, bringing with them their audacity, authenticity and unique vision of cinema.

The Champs-Élysées Film Festival remains true to its mission of defending independent cinema, at the crossroads of French and American cinematography. It strives to build bridges between different forms of artistic expression, making the festival a privileged meeting place for new cinematographic and musical creation.

Competition entries are open until April 14, 2024 for medium-length and short films, and until May 12, 2024 for French and American independent feature films. The prizes will be awarded at the closing ceremony on June 25, 2024, crowning the talents of tomorrow.

At a time when the Champs-Élysées have experienced a period of cultural desertification, the festival aims to breathe new life into this legendary avenue, reminding everyone of the emotional and universal power of cinema. We look forward to seeing you from June 18 to 25, 2024, to share unforgettable moments together and celebrate the magic of the 7th art.

Get ready for an intense week of cinema, discovery and emotion in the heart of Paris. Stay tuned for details of the program, to be unveiled in the coming months. The Champs-Élysées Film Festival 2024 promises to be a memorable edition, marking its thirteenth anniversary in style. We look forward to seeing you there to celebrate independent cinema in all its diversity and richness.
