By Mulder, 07 march 2024

As one of France's leading cultural ambassadors, Fnac is inaugurating a series of pop-up stores dedicated to rock legend AC/DC, celebrating the Australian band's 50th anniversary. The initiative, scheduled to run from March 15 to April 4, 2024, in the cities of Paris, Lille, Strasbourg, Nice and Nantes, is proof of the indelible impact AC/DC has had on music and popular culture across generations.

To mark this monumental event, Fnac has carefully selected five of its stores to transform each space into an AC/DC sanctuary, allowing fans to fully immerse themselves in the band's universe. These pop-up stores will offer special 50th anniversary reissues of iconic AC/DC albums, a golden opportunity for collectors and vinyl enthusiasts to own a piece of rock'n'roll history. The golden vinyl editions and the two Fnac collector's editions for Back in Black and Highway to Hell promise to capture the essence and raw energy of AC/DC.

But the experience doesn't stop there. The pop-up stores will also be packed with never-before-seen AC/DC merchandise, from t-shirts and sweaters to tote bags, caps, mugs and a puzzle depicting the band's famous Tour Truck. This diverse assortment allows fans of all ages to proudly wear the AC/DC colors and take home a tangible piece of the celebration.

As well as transforming its stores with exclusive products, Fnac is dressing up in AC/DC colors for the occasion. Record stores, the beating heart of the Fnac experience, will be sporting vests emblazoned with the AC/DC universe, testifying to the brand's commitment to offering an immersive and authentic experience to its customers.

This 50th anniversary comes at a time when AC/DC continues to enjoy unrivalled popularity and influence in the rock world. Formed in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, AC/DC has spanned the decades, adapting to changes in music while remaining true to its rock and roll essence. Their music, which transcends the classifications of hard rock, blues rock and heavy metal, remains rooted in powerful simplicity and a commitment to musical authenticity. Special reissues and merchandise offer fans a new way to connect with the band's legacy, underlining AC/DC's lasting impact on music and popular culture.

Fnac's initiative celebrates not only AC/DC's music, but also its catalytic role in shaping rock identity. By offering fans a space to celebrate, rediscover and connect with the band's history, Fnac reinforces its status as a leader in cultural outreach. The AC/DC pop-up stores are an invitation to travel through musical eras, share memories and continue forging the history of rock'n'roll together. It's a celebration of the music that defies time, of the rebellious spirit and passion that characterize AC/DC, a band that, after 50 years, continues to shake the world with its electric lightning.
