Jim Lee is an iconic figure in the comic book industry, whose influence and talent have left an indelible mark on the world of superheroes. Born in South Korea in 1964 and raised in the USA, Lee began his career in the 1980s, quickly becoming famous for his work on Marvel titles such as "X-Men". His dynamic style, characterized by muscular characters, dramatic poses and attention to detail in costumes and settings, redefined the aesthetic standards of comic books and captivated a generation of readers.

In the early '90s, Jim Lee co-founded Image Comics, a publishing house that revolutionized the industry by giving comics creators complete ownership and creative control over their work. At Image, Lee launched "WildC.A.T.s", a highly successful series that solidified his reputation as an artist and entrepreneur.

In 1998, Lee took the next step by selling his own company, WildStorm Productions, to DC Comics, where he continued to work on high-profile projects, including "Batman: Hush" and "Superman: For Tomorrow". His work at DC not only solidified his superstar status in the art world, but also proved his ability to revitalize classic characters with new energy and perspective.

In addition to his artistic work, Jim Lee took on leadership roles in the industry, becoming co-publisher of DC Comics and, later, Creative Director. In these roles, he oversaw the launch of The New 52 in 2011, a major overhaul of the DC Universe that introduced new origins for many iconic characters and attracted new readers.

Jim Lee is also known for his commitment to the comic book fan community, actively participating in conventions, book signings and online events, where he shares his passion for drawing and storytelling. His charity work, notably through auctions of his drawings, has helped raise funds for a variety of causes.

With a career spanning several decades, Jim Lee is not only a pillar of the comic book industry, but also an innovator and mentor to new generations of artists. His legacy is that of a creator who has always sought to push the boundaries of sequential art, while remaining true to the spirit of fun and adventure that is at the heart of comics.

Jim Lee will be signing on Friday March 29 at Album Comics.
