In a world where the living are as dangerous as the dead, AMC launches The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, a post-apocalyptic horror drama series that promises to redefine the genre. Created by Scott M. Gimple, Danai Gurira, and Andrew Lincoln, this new entry in The Walking Dead universe debuted on February 25, 2024, continuing the story after the conclusion of the original series. With Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, and Pollyanna McIntosh reprising their iconic roles, this is the sixth spin-off and seventh TV series in The Walking Dead franchise.

The Ones Who Live immerses viewers in the gripping tale of Rick Grimes and Michonne, struggling to find their way and their identity in a world irrevocably transformed by the war against the zombies and, more profoundly, against the living themselves. After years of separation and insurmountable obstacles, this series explores their quest to find each other again, and whether, without each other, they can truly be considered alive.

First announced in July 2022 at San Diego Comic-Con by Scott M. Gimple, Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira, this six-episode limited series was preceded by considerable anticipation. Originally titled The Walking Dead: Rick & Michonne, it was renamed The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live in July 2023, signaling an exciting new direction for the story.

Production began on February 15, 2023 and wrapped on May 29, 2023, under the working title Summit. Filming took place in New Jersey with Pollyanna McIntosh, highlighting the dedication and passion that fueled the creation of this series. Despite the challenges posed by the SAG-AFTRA strike in 2023, production was able to continue thanks to an agreement between AMC and the union, ensuring that this long-awaited story would finally reach its audience.

With an executive producing team including such well-known names as Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, and Greg Nicotero, and music by Sam Ewing, The Ones Who Live is destined to become an iconic series. Based on the comics by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard, and produced by Skybound Entertainment, Valhalla Entertainment, Circle of Confusion and AMC Studios, the series represents a profound exploration of survival, love and identity in a post-apocalyptic world.

The series airs on AMC in the U.S. and soon on Paramount+ in France, offering a global audience the opportunity to immerse themselves in this new era of The Walking Dead. With each episode lasting 60 minutes, viewers can look forward to an adventure rich in emotion, suspense and reflections on human nature in the face of adversity. The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is more than just a story of survival; it's an ode to the indomitable spirit of humanity and the steadfast love that can survive even the end of the world.
