
The cinematic world eagerly anticipates the recognition of acclaimed filmmaker Shawn Levy, set to be honored with the prestigious CinemaCon Director of the Year Award. The announcement was made today by CinemaCon's Managing Director, Mitch Neuhauser, as anticipation builds for CinemaCon, the official convention of NATO, taking place from April 8-11, 2024, at the illustrious Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The award will be presented at the Big Screen Achievement Awards ceremony, an illustrious event scheduled for the evening of Thursday, April 11, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and hosted by official presenting sponsor The Coca-Cola Company.

Shawn Levy's mark on the cinematic landscape is set to deepen with the release of his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, Deadpool & Wolverine, scheduled for an exclusive nationwide theatrical release on July 26, 2024. Levy, who directs, co-writes, and produces the film, has assembled a stellar cast featuring Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen. The collaboration promises to deliver a cinematic experience of epic proportions.
Born in Montreal, Canada, Shawn Levy's journey in the film industry began with studies in performing arts at Yale University, culminating in an MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. In 2005, he founded 21 Laps Entertainment, a cinematic powerhouse responsible for producing some of the most acclaimed and commercially successful film and television content, amassing over $3.2 billion worldwide at the box office.
