Illumination, the powerhouse animation studio, is thrilled to unveil the highly anticipated trailer for Despicable Me 4, the latest installment in the beloved animated franchise. The film is set to hit theaters nationwide on July 3, 2024, promising audiences a heartwarming yet action-packed adventure.

In this fourth installment, Felonious Gru (Oscar nominee Steve Carell) returns with his lovable Minions alongside Lucy (Oscar nominee Kristen Wiig) and their daughters Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), and Agnes (Madison Polan). The Gru family welcomes a mischievous new addition, Gru Jr., who is determined to make his mark by tormenting his father.

The plot takes an exciting turn as Gru faces a formidable new nemesis, Maxime Le Mal (Emmy winner Will Ferrell), and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (Emmy nominee Sofia Vergara). The Gru family finds themselves on the run, setting the stage for a thrilling and humorous escapade.

Directed by Chris Renaud, co-creator of the Minions and director of hits like Despicable M' and The Secret Life of Pets, and co-directed by Patrick Delage in his feature directorial debut, the film boasts a star-studded cast. Alongside Carell, Wiig, Ferrell, and Vergara, the voice talents include Joey King, Stephen Colbert, Chloe Fineman, Miranda Cosgrove, and Steve Coogan.

The screenplay is penned by Mike White, creator of 'White Lotus,' and Ken Daurio, the seasoned writer behind every Despicable Me film. The film is produced by Illumination’s founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and Brett Hoffman, the executive producer of 'The Super Mario Bros. Movie' and Minions: The Rise of Gru.

Despicable Me 4 is a sequel to the 2017 hit Despicable Me 3 and marks the sixth installment in the iconic Despicable Me franchise. The film is set to be theatrically released in the United States on July 3, 2024.

As part of Universal's groundbreaking deal with Netflix, Despicable Me 4 will initially stream on Peacock for the first four months of the pay-TV window, before moving to Netflix for the subsequent ten months, and finally returning to Peacock for the remaining four months.
