Cerermony - 51st Annual Saturn Awards : Keanu Reeves to Receive Inaugural Lance Reddick Legacy Award

The 51st Annual Saturn Awards, set to take place on February 4, 2024, will be a poignant celebration of the late Lance Reddick, the esteemed actor and former host of the awards show. The event will introduce the inaugural Lance Reddick Legacy Award, a tribute to Reddick's memory, and it will be presented to none other than Keanu Reeves, Reddick's longtime co-star and friend from the iconic John Wick film franchise.

The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films announced today that Titus Welliver, known for his roles in "Bosch" and "Bosch: Legacy," will do the honors of presenting the prestigious award to Keanu Reeves. The ceremony will be hosted by Joel McHale and streamed live on ElectricNOW at 4 PM PST.

The Lance Reddick Legacy Award not only recognizes Reeves for his outstanding talent but also celebrates his exemplary character as a goodwill ambassador in the entertainment industry. Reeves, known for his versatile roles in Science Fiction ("The Matrix Trilogy"), Fantasy ("Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure"/"Constantine"), and Horror (Francis Ford Coppola's "Dracula"/"The Devil's Advocate"), has left an indelible mark on the film industry.

Academy President Robert Holguin and Saturn producers Bradley and Kevin Marcus expressed their enthusiasm about honoring Reeves, stating, "Keanu is not just a Hollywood icon but also a shining example of humility and gratitude. Throughout his incredible career, he has never forgotten the support of his fans and the filmmakers who’ve supported him all these years. We're thrilled to celebrate Lance's memory with a dear friend and a genre icon.”

The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror is a non-profit organization founded in 1972, dedicated to promoting genre film production and television programming. The organization boasts support from industry luminaries such as JJ Abrams, Dean Devlin, Guillermo Del Toro, and Kevin Feige.

The awards ceremony will be streamed on ElectricNOW, a premium OTT app and FAST channel featuring Electric Entertainment’s own produced content, along with acquired programming.
