Prime-Video - LOL: Who Laughs, Goes Out! - A Dive Into the Upcoming Season 4

By Mulder, 15 january 2024

Prime Video has announced the cast for Season 4 of the hit show LOL: Qui rit, sort! confirming the return of actor, writer and director Philippe Lacheau to the show. The new season promises new comic dynamics and fresh twists, with the participation of Redouane Bougheraba, Jérôme Commandeur, Franck Gastambide, Marina Foïs, Alban Ivanov, Jean-Pascal Zadi, Audrey Lamy, McFly et Carlito, Anaïde Rozam and Alison Wheeler.

Produced by Endemol France, this season will include four first episodes available on February 16, followed by two more on February 23, exclusively on Prime Video in France and French-speaking countries. Subscribers to the Prime Video catalog can expect fierce competition between these talented comedians and comedians, where the ultimate goal is to not laugh in order to avoid elimination.

A striking new feature this year is the introduction of Armafifi, secret weapons awarded to the most offensive participants. Philippe Lacheau plans to reward those who distinguish themselves by their sharp sense of humor. What's more, for the first time this season's winner will be awarded an impressive €150,000, which will then be donated to the charity of his or her choice.

After the triumph of the first three seasons, this new edition of LOL: Qui rit, sort! will continue to entertain viewers with its simple but formidable rules. While Philippe Lacheau offers eliminated contestants a chance for revenge, this season also sees the introduction of a significant financial reward, adding a charitable dimension to the competition.

Since its first broadcast on Amazon Prime Video in 2021, LOL: Qui rit, sort! has quickly established itself as a flagship show, charmingly presented by the talented Philippe Lacheau. Adapted from the 2016 Japanese format "Hitoshi Matsumoto Presents Documental", the show has enjoyed international success, being rolled out in several countries, including Australia, Mexico, Canada, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Argentina, and Spain.

The principle is simple but formidable: ten comedians or humorists are locked in a 1,200 m2 loft for six hours, with the aim of making the other participants laugh while avoiding laughing themselves. Each participant plays for the association of his or her choice, and the winner takes home a substantial sum, reaching €150,000 for season 4.

The first season, broadcast in April 2021, saw Alexandra Lamy and Julien Arruti tied for victory. The following season, hosted by Philippe Lacheau and Alexandra Lamy, crowned Camille Lellouche and Gérard Darmon. The third season, broadcast in March 2023, saw Pierre Niney win the competition in aid of the Association Robert Debré for medical research.

A special Halloween spin-off, entitled Qui crie, sort!" was also broadcast in October 2023, where contestants had to not only avoid laughing, but also screaming. The winners of this special season were Camille Lellouche and Kyan Khojandi, who decided to share the winnings for their respective associations.

Season 4 of LOL: Qui rit, sort! promises to be a hilarious experience, with an exceptional cast, innovative rules and a substantial reward for the winner. Fans can look forward to memorable moments, laughter and quality entertainment, reinforcing the show's reputation as a gem in the Prime Video catalog. Watch for the first episodes of this new comedy adventure on February 16!
