By Mulder, 07 january 2024

This year's Golden Globe Awards marks a historic occasion as it is the first ceremony under the full control of Dick Clark Productions and Eldridge Industries, following the disbandment of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in 2023. The shift in leadership promises a new era for the Golden Globes, bringing fresh perspectives and innovations to the forefront.

In a groundbreaking move, the 81st Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast live on CBS in the United States, a return to the network after nearly four decades. The star-studded event, produced by Dick Clark Productions in collaboration with Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss, will also witness Glenn Weiss taking on the role of director.

Nominees across various categories were revealed during a special announcement ceremony on December 11, 2023. The complete list is now available to the public on CBSNews.com/GoldenGlobes and the official Golden Globes website. Ten exclusive categories were disclosed live on CBS Mornings on CBS at 5:30 a.m. PT/8:30 a.m. ET, adding an extra layer of excitement for fans and industry enthusiasts .It will also stream on Paramount+

Adding to the intrigue of this year's awards, two new categories have been introduced: Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television (also known as Best Stand-Up Comedian on Television). While these additions have sparked discussions within the media, the Golden Globes organizers stand firm in their commitment to recognizing excellence across diverse genres.

As the industry and audiences eagerly await the 81st Golden Globe Awards, scheduled to air live on CBS, the nominees reflect the exceptional talent and creativity that defined the world of film and television in 2023.
