December 21] The Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL) has unveiled the much-anticipated nominees for the 5th Annual SCL Awards, honoring outstanding achievements in film, television, and visual media composition. The announcement, made today, aligns with the unveiling of the Oscar music shortlist, showcasing an impressive lineup of talent.

This year's nominees boast a remarkable convergence with the Oscar shortlist, featuring acclaimed artists such as Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Lenny Kravitz, Diane Warren, Jon Batiste, and the late Robbie Robertson. The recognition spans various categories, including Best Original Song, where these artists have left an indelible mark on the cinematic landscape.

The Society of Composers & Lyricists, with its 78-year legacy, serves as a premier organization for professional composers and songwriters in the realms of film, television, video games, and musical theater. With nearly 4,000 members, the SCL continues to champion education and address the creative, technological, and legal issues impacting the music for visual media community.

The awards ceremony, now in its fifth year, is scheduled to take place on February 13, 2024, at the prestigious Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. Among the categories to be unveiled are the coveted Spirit of Collaboration Award, recognizing enduring partnerships between composers and directors.
