The LEGO Group and Polaroid were pleased to present their latest addition today, the LEGO® IDEAS - Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera set. Designed with passion by a LEGO fan by the name of Marc, aka Minibrick Productions (@minibrickYT), this unique set offers a captivating interpretation of the iconic Polaroid camera, made entirely from LEGO bricks.

Scheduled for official release on January 1, 2024, the LEGO IDEAS - Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera set is an iconic piece in the LEGO IDEAS range, marking the 53rd LEGO product inspired by the creativity of fans. A harmonious marriage between Polaroid's photographic heritage and the ingenuity of the LEGO community.

This set of 516 carefully selected bricks captures the essence of Polaroid's OneStep camera, which has captured the hearts of photography enthusiasts since its launch in 1977. Faithfully reproducing its distinctive features, the collectible model offers a playful experience with features that replicate the camera's actual operation.

The LEGO IDEAS - Polaroid OneStep SX-70 camera features a functional viewfinder, the iconic Color Spectrum, an exposure compensation dial and a shutter button. The LEGO photo loading and ejection mechanism is activated by this button, offering an immersive experience for photography enthusiasts and LEGO fans alike. In addition, a film trap opens to allow LEGO Polaroid photos to be inserted.

To make this experience even more authentic, the set comes with a pack of Polaroid Time-Zero film to build and three illustrated LEGO Polaroid photos. A new 8x10 tile also completes the set, adding an artistic dimension to this unique creation.

Marc, aka Minibrick Productions, shares his enthusiasm for designing the OneStep: "The OneStep took just over a month to build. I even started designing it while I was on vacation in France, I couldn't wait [...] I've always loved the design of the Polaroid OneStep. It's iconic, you see it everywhere!"

The original Polaroid OneStep camera was launched in 1977 and immediately conquered the photography market with its innovative concept of instant photography, allowing anyone to develop their photos instantly. The LEGO IDEAS - Polaroid OneStep SX-70 camera set pays tribute to this photographic heritage, reinventing it as a building set.

LEGO IDEAS - Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera is currently available for pre-order from December 15 on LEGO.com. It will be available at retail outlets from January 1, 2024, at the recommended retail price of €79.99.
