By Mulder, 30 november 2023

Today, we are celebrating the first anniversary of the announcement of Tutankhamun: The Pharaonic Immersive Experience, a life-size immersion in the heart of the Valley of the Kings. Planned for 2024, this exceptional experience will plunge visitors into the greatest archaeological exploration in history, led by the eminent British archaeologist and Egyptologist Howard Carter.

Bénédicte Lhoyer, PhD in Egyptology, spoke passionately about her participation in this unique adventure: "I'm delighted to be part of this immersive adventure, which offers as many people as possible the opportunity to enter the mythical tomb of Tutankhamun. My role is to contribute my scientific expertise to the reproduction of the tomb and Howard Carter's excavation, to ensure the coherence of the presentation, but also to bring a concern for veracity through the exceptional replicas presented. This treasure and the tragic destiny of this pharaoh can't fail to thrill the crowds!"

The adventure begins in 2024
Tutankhamun, The Pharaonic Immersive Experience offers a fun and educational adventure for the whole family. Covering an area of 3,000 m2, visitors will set off from the tent of the famous English explorer Howard Carter, armed with a map of the tomb and riddles to solve along the way. They will pass through the Antechamber, the Annex and the Burial Chamber, before finally reaching the Treasury, the final room housing the tomb's priceless artifacts.

An exceptional collection to discover
More than 1,000 exceptional pieces and objects found in the pharaoh's tomb will be meticulously reproduced. Created by Egyptian artists and craftsmen in the Cairo Museum's workshops under the direction of Dr. Atef Abdel Shafi, these captivating replicas bear witness to the exceptional expertise deployed over a period of six years. The discovery of the treasure is accompanied by a monumental 200 m2 cartographic projection, illustrating Tutankhamun's mythological journey into the Beyond.
