October 16, 1923, marked the official founding of Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio by Walt Disney, heralding the beginning of a revolution in the entertainment industry and storytelling. Today, on this historic day, Disneyland Paris is celebrating the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company with a spectacular ceremony.

For a century, France has played a significant role in Disney's history, from being a source of inspiration for Walt Disney himself to serving as the backdrop for iconic locations in Disney films. In 1992, Disneyland Paris opened its doors in France, bringing to life these beloved stories in settings and attractions often influenced by French and European culture. The French influence remains strong, especially in the invaluable French craftsmanship showcased within the parks, such as the renovation of Sleeping Beauty's Castle.

To commemorate the exact date of The Walt Disney Company's creation, Disneyland Paris has prepared a program of unprecedented surprises for its visitors. This includes an extraordinary ceremony featuring 100 iconic Disney characters. More surprises await visitors on this special day, including memorable encounters with Mickey, Minnie, and their friends, dressed in special anniversary attire, as well as unique Disney experiences. It's a dream opportunity to immerse oneself in 100 years of Disney magic!

The emotional program began with a grand welcome: Mickey, Minnie, and their friends donned their exclusive Disney100 costumes, accompanied by 20 dancers, all dressed for the occasion, welcoming visitors in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. To celebrate The Walt Disney Company's centenary, 100 Disney characters, joined by 100 Disney VoluntEARS (Cast Members who volunteer for philanthropic actions at Disneyland Paris throughout the year), gathered in front of the Castle. This enchanting sight allowed both young and old to be transported into their favorite stories, from Pixar's Toy Story to classic Walt Disney Animation Studios films like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Peter Pan, or Frozen.

The surprises continued throughout the day with a pre-parade led by Mickey, Minnie, and their talented dancer friends, preceding the iconic Disney Stars on Parade. Visitors also had the chance to meet these iconic characters in both parks – on the Castle Stage in Disneyland Park and on Production Courtyard in Walt Disney Studios Park, making this anniversary even more unforgettable.

In the evening, each park concluded the day with a nighttime projection show in tribute to the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company. This spectacle took place at The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror after the Avengers: Power the Night drone show and at Sleeping Beauty's Castle following the incredible Disney Dreams!® nighttime show.

This October 16, 2023, will be a day etched in the memories of all who attended. Visitors were at the heart of this special day, embodying Walt Disney's belief that, "Young and young at heart, thanks to you, dreams come true."
