It's a popular entertainment venue for film buffs and the general public in the Vannes and Morbihan region. The perfect place to hold a preview of a film that was shot in Morbihan.
The French film Flo, directed by Géraldine Danon, is one of the most eagerly awaited film projects of 2023. Scheduled for release in November, this captivating feature examines the fascinating life of the famous sailor Florence Arthaud. Part of the prestigious official selection, but outside the competition, at the Cannes Film Festival 2023, Flo is part of the Cinéma de la Plage section, promising a memorable cinematic experience.
The screenplay, a collaboration between Géraldine Danon and writer Yann Queffélec, draws its inspiration from the book La Mer et au-delà, published in 2020. Yann Queffélec, who had already written the book, contributed to the development of a captivating story that retraces the extraordinary life of Florence Arthaud.
Filming for Flo began in July 2022, with shots taken in iconic locations such as Loire-Atlantique, Ille-et-Vilaine (Saint-Malo), Morbihan (La Trinité-sur-Mer), Var (Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer), Guadeloupe, South Africa and Paris. The film team even had the exceptional opportunity to use the sailboat Pierre 1er, with which Florence Arthaud triumphed in the 1990 Route du Rhum, adding a touch of authenticity to the whole project.
Flo promises to immerse viewers in the exciting and tumultuous life of Florence Arthaud, a legendary yachtswoman and icon of the maritime world. The film is already attracting a great deal of interest, and will undoubtedly be one of the cinematic highlights of 2023.

Synopsis:
Known as the "Little Bride of the Atlantic", Florence Arthaud was above all a great sailor. Her exceptional record of achievement, unique in the male-dominated world of sailing, culminated in her victory in the Route du Rhum in 1990. Beyond these exploits, FLO tells the incredible story of a fiercely free woman who - after a near fatal road accident - decided to reject her bourgeois milieu and the life that had been laid out for her, to live her dreams to the full.
