Retribution is an action-packed thriller film that has gained international recognition. Directed by Nimród Antal and written by Chris Salmanpour, it features an ensemble cast including Liam Neeson, Noma Dumezweni, Lilly Aspell, Jack Champion, Embeth Davidtz, and Matthew Modine. Set to be released on August 25, 2023, the movie serves as a remake of the 2015 Spanish film El desconocido.

In Retribution, Liam Neeson takes on the compelling role of Matt Turner, leading audiences on a thrilling and suspenseful journey of redemption and vengeance. The film captivates viewers with its immersive and intense storyline, as an unidentified caller places a bomb underneath Matt's car seat. With his children held hostage in the back seat, any attempt to escape would result in a devastating explosion. This dire situation propels Matt into a desperate race throughout the city, where he must fulfill a series of dangerous tasks dictated by the mysterious stranger. The stakes continue to rise, turning a routine commute into a twisted and life-threatening game. Time becomes Matt's most critical enemy as he battles against it to save his family.

Retribution is a collaborative production involving American, French, German, and Spanish entities such as Studiocanal and Studio Babelsberg Motion Pictures. The majority of the filming took place at Babelsberg Studios in Potsdam, Germany, as well as on the streets of Berlin, where the story unfolds. The project was initially announced in 2017, with Neeson's involvement confirmed in November 2020. Additional casting announcements followed, including Jack Champion and Lilly Aspell portraying Neeson's character's son and daughter, respectively. Matthew Modine, Embeth Davidtz, and Moayed were later added to the cast in June 2021. According to reports from Deadline Hollywood in July 2021, Modine had successfully completed filming his scenes in Germany.

Synopsis :
A businessman discovers that a bomb has been planted in the car he's driving by an unknown assailant. The assailant orders him to perform a series of actions throughout the day, or the bomb will explode...killing him and his family.
