The Champs-Elysées Film Festival goes on the most beautiful avenue in the world. The fact that the 5 cinemas (Publicis, Balzac, Lincoln, UGC Normandie and Gaumont Champs-Elysées) are neat from each other, gives this festival a human touch. Directors and actors are accessible, which creates a friendly atmosphere. Cinephiles debate the films seen. The documentary Dunk or Die and the genre film Vincent must die have thus been noticed.

The screening of Vincent Must Die was a happy surprise, proof if it were needed that French cinema can and knows how to make genre films, without a big budget, but by being creative. Mathieu Naert's screenplay is, starting with this simple idea: what if, at any time, someone goes crazy and wants to kill you for no reason? Director Stéphan Castang never films violence in an aesthetic way, but on the opposite has worked with his actors and his stunt team, led by Manu Lanzi, to a striking naturalism. You can see it this Saturday, June 24 at 8:30 p.m. Run because it will not be released in theaters until mid-November. The film crew will once again be present to discuss with the public.

The festival continues with a Girl Power theme this weekend. This Friday evening, the Split series, by Iris Brey, the impediment of the omerta of French cinema, followed by a documentary on the intimacy coordinator Paloma Garcia Marten. This Saturday the 25th, the documentary Brainwashed shows how film language contributes to conditions that create discriminatory hiring practices, unequal pay, and a pervasive environment of sexual harassment in the film industry. Sunday will be held the masterclass of Eliza Hittman, moderated by iris Brey.

The showcases continue on the Publicis rooftop, with Jehnny Beth & EREX, Rebeka Warrior, Simone Ringer.
