Captain America is a fictional superhero who appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby and made his first appearance in Captain America Comics #1 in 1941. The alter ego of Captain America is Steve Rogers, a frail young man who underwent a super-soldier experiment during World War II, turning him into a physically enhanced and highly skilled warrior.
