Sharing an update on today’s earlier Retro Collection Luke Skywalker (Jedi Academy) figure.
Jedi Master Luke Skywalker helps Grogu hone his new skills and understand the ways of the Force. Inspired by the original 1970s Kenner Star Wars action figures, this Star Wars retro collection Luke Skywalker (Jedi Academy) is inspired by the characters’ appearance in Star Wars: the book of Boba Fett live-action series on Disney+. Fans and collectors can display this figure, with multiple points of articulation and Kenner-inspired packaging, in their action figure and vehicle collection. Includes figure and Lightsaber accessory. Available to purchase Fall 2023 at most major retailers.
Luke Skywalker was born in 19 BBY on the planet Tatooine to Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala. However, Luke was separated from his twin sister Leia at birth and was raised by his uncle Owen and aunt Beru. Growing up, Luke dreamed of leaving Tatooine and exploring the galaxy.
When Luke was 19, he stumbled upon a message from Princess Leia, pleading for help from General Obi-Wan Kenobi. Luke and Obi-Wan teamed up with smuggler Han Solo and his Wookiee co-pilot Chewbacca to rescue Princess Leia from the clutches of the evil Empire. Along the way, Luke discovered that he had inherited his father's connection to the Force and began training as a Jedi.
Luke played a crucial role in the Rebel Alliance's fight against the Empire. He destroyed the Death Star in the Battle of Yavin, helped rescue Han from Jabba the Hutt's palace, and played a key role in the Battle of Endor, where he confronted his father, now the Sith Lord Darth Vader, and brought him back to the light side of the Force. After the fall of the Empire, Luke founded a new Jedi Order and began training a new generation of Jedi. However, his nephew Ben Solo turned to the dark side and became the villainous Kylo Ren. This event led to the destruction of Luke's Jedi Temple and the death of most of his students.
Luke went into hiding, feeling responsible for what had happened. However, he was eventually found by Rey, a young scavenger from Jakku who had a strong connection to the Force. Luke trained Rey and helped the Resistance defeat the First Order, ultimately sacrificing himself to allow the Resistance to escape. Luke Skywalker will always be remembered as one of the greatest Jedi of all time, who played a pivotal role in defeating the Empire and bringing balance to the Force.
