Vladimir Cosma is back on stage at the Grand Rex in Paris with 3 exceptional concerts on June 16, 17 and 18, 2023. He will conduct a philharmonic orchestra, great choirs, prestigious soloists and surprise guests. His most beautiful film music, in concert version, will take on an unexpected dimension and a powerful breath.

Vladimir Cosma is a French composer, conductor and violinist of Romanian origin, best known for his film music. He was born on April 13, 1940 in Bucharest, Romania. His father, Teodor Cosma, was a conductor and composer, and his mother, Marthe Diamant-Berger, was a pianist.

Cosma began studying the violin at an early age and later attended the Bucharest Conservatory. After completing his studies, he began working as a violinist with the Romanian Radio and Television Orchestra. In 1963, he moved to Paris, France to pursue his musical career. In Paris, Cosma began working as a studio musician and arranger, playing violin for various artists and recording studios. He also began composing music for film and television, often collaborating with French director Yves Robert.

In 1976, he made his name with the music for the film "Le Jouet", a comedy directed by Francis Veber. The success of the film brought Cosma to the attention of the French film industry and he went on to compose music for over 500 films, television series and commercials.

Cosma's most famous works include the soundtracks to "La Boum", "Diva", "The Tall Blond Guy with a Black Shoe" and "The Dinner Party". He has received numerous awards for his work, including the César for best music for "Diva" in 1982. In addition to his film works, Cosma has also composed concert music, including operas, symphonies and ballets. He has conducted orchestras around the world, including the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Cosma's music is known for its catchy melodies and eclectic mix of styles, which draw on his varied musical background. He has cited classical composers such as Bach and Beethoven, as well as jazz and traditional Romanian music, as influences in his work. Cosma has received numerous honors and awards throughout his career, including the National Order of Merit from the French government and the title of Commander of the Order of Cultural Merit from the Romanian government. He continues to compose music and perform throughout the world.
