The Consultant is an American black comedy thriller television series created by Tony Basgallop, based on the novel of the same name by Bentley Little and starring Christoph Waltz as the titular character, with Nat Wolff, Brittany O'Grady and Aimee Carrero in supporting roles. The series follows the employees of a mobile game company whose leadership is taken over by a sinister consultant, played by Waltz. The Consultant first aired on Amazon Prime Video on February 24, 2023.

Based on Bentley Little's 2015 novel of the same name, the characters and story of this thrilling new series unfold in new ways. The Consultant is a thriller with an unexpected tone that explores the relationship between boss and employee. When a new consultant, Regus Patoff (Christoph Waltz), is hired to improve the business of the gaming company CompWare, the employees face new demands and challenges that challenge everything... including their lives.

On November 18, 2021, it was revealed that Tony Basgallop would be the showrunner of the television series adaptation of Bentley Little's novel "The Consultant." Basgallop is executive producing the series with Christoph Waltz, Matt Shakman, Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman, Kai Dolbashian through MGM Television, 1.21 Pictures, Toluca Pictures and Amazon Studios. Along with the announcement, Waltz has been cast as Mr. Patoff in the series. On December 8, 2021, Brittany O'Grady and Nat Wolff were cast in the series. Filming began in December 2021 and is expected to continue until May 2022. Aimee Carrero was confirmed in the lead role in March 2022.

Synopsis:
Satire about the appalling relationship between an employee and his boss, which questions what we are capable of doing to survive. Hired as a consultant to rescue CompWare from a major merger, Patoff slowly begins to run the company.
