Only one month left to wait before discovering, exclusively on Disney+, season 3 of The Mandalorian, a Lucasfilm original series among the most acclaimed, both by critics and by subscribers to the platform. To celebrate the imminent arrival of 8 new episodes online on a weekly basis starting March 1, a new poster has just been unveiled, as well as an exclusive behind-the-scenes report on this unique production with testimonials from Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa and many others, not to mention the presence of the adorable Grogu, who has won the hearts of many viewers.
The third season of the American television series The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal as the title character, a bounty hunter who travels to Mandalore to redeem his past transgressions with his companion Grogu. The series is part of the Star Wars franchise and takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983). The season is produced by Lucasfilm, Fairview Entertainment and Golem Creations, with Jon Favreau as showrunner. Development on a third season of The Mandalorian began in late April 2020 and was officially confirmed in December. Filming began in October 2021 and wrapped in late March 2022. The season is scheduled to premiere March 1, 2023 on the Disney+ streaming service. A fourth season is currently in development. The directors of the third season episodes are Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey and Bryce Dallas Howard.
The Mandalorian odyssey in the Star Wars universe continues. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has found Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic strives to take the galaxy far away from its dark history. As he and the Child continue their journey, the Mandalorian will encounter old allies and make new enemies in the tumultuous times following the collapse of the Galactic Empire...
Filming for the season began on October 13, 2021, with David Klein as director of photography. It was scheduled to begin once the filming of The Book of Boba Fett was completed in June 2021, but it was unable to begin because Obi-Wan Kenobi was using the Los Angeles studios. Esposito noted that production didn't have to wait for Pascal to finish filming the HBO series The Last of Us since the Mandalorian is mostly seen with his helmet on. Regarding the filming of the season during the COVID-19 pandemic, Favreau felt that The Mandalorian was in an advantageous situation since many of the characters wear masks and the show employs "a lot of digital work that augments things," allowing the production to be flexible in adhering to filming protocols. Filming ended on March 29, 2022. Reshoots took place in early July 2022.
Synopsis:
After the adventures of Jango and Boba Fett, a new hero emerges in the Star Wars universe. Set between the fall of the Empire and the rise of the First Order, the story follows the travels of a lone bounty hunter to the farthest reaches of the Galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic.
