Paramount+ has announced that the new series will have its world premiere on February 24 in France, the UK, Canada, Latin America, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy. Produced by Paramount, in partnership with CreativeChaos vmg, this four-part documentary series explores a compelling true story of power, money and murder.
In 1982, Roberto Calvi, a fugitive financier nicknamed "God's Banker," is found hanged at Blackfriars Bridge in London. What starts out as a simple murder investigation quickly turns into an international intrigue after it is discovered that Calvi was in business with the Vatican, the mafia, as well as neo-fascist groups in Italy. The documentary uses archival footage, stylized mise-en-scene, and interviews with leading journalists and historians to uncover the truth behind Calvi's murder, while exploring the layers of corruption where money and global power take root.
Murder of God's banker is produced by Paramount, in partnership with CreativeChaos vmg. The series is written and directed by Tom Donahue. Executive producers are Ilan Arboleda, Tom Donahue and Mike Holz, with Jessicya Materano and Jordan Bogdonavage as co-executive producers.
