Cerermony - The 95th Academy Awards ceremony : discover the nominations

The 95th Academy Awards ceremony will be presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). It will honor films released in 2022 and is scheduled to take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 12, 2023. The ceremony willl be televised in the United States by ABC and will be produced by Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner. Weiss also serves as the director. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel will host the show for the third time; he was the host for the 89th and 90th editions of the ceremony.

The nominations were announced by actors Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams today

Michelle Yeoh became the first Malaysian woman nominated in the Best Actress category. Hong Chau and Stephanie Hsu's nominations in the Best Supporting Actress category marked the first time two Asian actresses were nominated in that category in the same year. Additionally, paired with Yeoh's Best Actress nomination and Ke Huy Quan's Best Supporting Actor nomination, it marked the first time that Asian actors were nominated in multiple acting categories. By virtue of her Best Supporting Actress nomination for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Angela Bassett became the first person to receive an acting nomination at the Oscars for a role in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film. All Quiet on the Western Front became the fifteenth Best International Feature Film nominee to also be nominated for Best Picture. At age 90, John Williams became the oldest competitive nominee in Oscar history, he also broke his own record as the most Oscar-nominated living person, and the second-most nominated person (behind Walt Disney). With 15 first-time Oscar nominees across the four acting categories, it marked the most amount of first-time nominees in Oscar history.
