Convention - Paris Games Week Restart: video game training and schools meet future industry talent

By Mulder, 28 october 2022

The future of the French video game industry may be among the visitors of Paris Games Week! To help them discover the opportunities and professions in the video game industry, France's leading schools and specialized training programs will be present at PGW 2022, at the heart of an event that will bring together all types of French and international video game players.

Video games have become a major part of our daily lives, and this is reflected in the vocations they inspire in young people, who are increasingly interested in a career in the video game industry: 27% of 10-14 year olds, 39% of 15-17 year olds and 43% of 18-24 year olds have already considered working in this field(1).
Throughout Paris Games Week, schools and training courses of excellence will welcome visitors. At their respective stands, students, professionals and renowned and qualified teachers will be answering questions from young people and their parents, and helping them discover the professions, companies and courses in the sector.

Whether they are interested in creation, production, publishing or distribution; in computer graphics, animation, programming or testing; all young people are welcome to visit the video game schools' booths, regardless of their age, gender or educational background.

The video game industry, which currently employs nearly 15,000 people in France and could double that number by 2030, aims to be as representative as possible of the diversity of the French population.

To encourage and support the continuous increase in the number of young women in schools and in the video game industry, the show will also provide an opportunity for young female students to meet and network with professionals in the sector, notably through the Women In Games France association.

And to open up the video game industry to an ever-wider audience, the free Avenir en Jeu training program will also be represented in the Made in France Games area. A class of students will be present to give visitors more details about this free and paid training program, developed in association with the École de la Deuxième Chance, and designed to train young people who are far from employment to become video game testers.
